@@anndynegative LOL funny, "The Brown Sound" is commonly know as Eddie Van Halen's tone, we all try to find the Brown sound to sound like his amps did. Listen to anything off VH1, VH2, Women and Children First and Fair Warning....That is the original Brown sound.

For me any boss katana is a no brainer, you can dial in alot of sounds on the knobs but you can literally get any sound you want through boss studio. And you can download other peoples patches so you don’t even have to dial in your own tone

Just get a Fender Champ 20. Like a hundred and twenty bucks. You won’t need any pedals, lots of effect options and the damn thing is loud enough to make your neighbors notice.

@@LiamSmall12I have one and do not recommend. It doesn't have a really clean tone. So, if you intend to use a pedal, the sound will be a mess. For practice, is ok and only if you are not going to use pedals.
@sebaalge667411 ай бұрын
honestly i don't like to recommend modeller amp to beginner. You actually risk to spend more time dialing in a sound you like than playing. Or have a lot of reverb or delay to hide the mistakes. Honestly? Marshall DSL1. Small amp, sounds VERY good, 2 channels, cheap. Get a couple of pedals with time, and actually focus on practice, and making the most of what you have.
@anndynegative11 ай бұрын
I agree that simple amps are always a good choice. But some people just want to throw on a preset and play for fun and that's cool too
@sebaalge667411 ай бұрын
@@anndynegative you're right. It depends on the person. The important thing is something fun and that keeps you wanting to practice.

My first amp was a 68 guild thunder bass. 2nd amp was a 50w musicman hybrid, tube power section with solid state preamp. Really interesting sound. For the last 20 years I’ve been using my third amp, a Rivera m100. The guild is still at my parents house, it is and was my dads. Really simple great sounding amp. Volume, bass, treble, and a low pass/high pass switch. I don’t like modeling amps as a beginner amp(although I bought one for someone as their first amp😢) because they are kinda complicated and as easily as I can get a great tone out of my dads flextone or my Rivera, I can just as easily get something abysmal.
@spacepacer48083 ай бұрын
For those who are beginners that are playing guitar as a hobby and arent looking to be in a band or play for other people and don't want to spend over 500 on your gear I recommend the Boss Katana Mini. It's 100 bucks (I got mine on sale for 80) and it's got all the basic settings you need to amplify your guitar. It doesn't sound nearly as good as more expensive amps but it's been a really good budget Amp for me. Great for just learning chords and tabs.

You can find the MG15 in the price range. The new Spark Go is also in the budget.
@ethansheesha77092 ай бұрын
Realistically, spending a little more isn't a terrible idea. It sucks buying multiple cheaper amps that don't please you or whatnot and buying multiple more to get the right one, rather than spending just a little more on a decent one the first time that will last plenty of time for you to get your moneys worth out of using it or selling it to someone else that wants it for nearly just as much as you got it for.

I've been playing off and on for the last 20 years and have a lot of practice amps, tube and SS. My favorite practice amp is the Orange Crush 12, it has no effects which is a good thing for a beginner as you don't get caught up in playing with the effects instead of just playing your guitar. You really are better off keeping it simple, your picking is the effects.
