I have suffered wounds by "the church". What I have a hard time forgiving is the Christians who literally chased my children away from Jesus. I am re-committed to choosing forgiveness and praying my prodigal children back in to the center of God's love. Thank you, Anne. I'm getting your book.

Part of my journey of forgiving other Christians was realizing how much I didn't know about people. I was naive, and had low self esteem. Then it became a journey of forgiving myself. I'm still trying to figure things out, pray for me.

That's true. Not everyone who attends church is saved. Then again, there are people who are carnal Christians. That means they I'm more concerned about pleasing themselves than they are themselves than they are about pleasing God. That kind of thinking gives way to rebellion and all sorts of evil things if it's not brought into subjection. Some people would call it bringing it into check but I like to think of it from a spiritual perspective. It can ultimately cause their downfall. I have actually known of people who died because they led this kind of a lifestyle.

Was searching for a old documentary on God vs Satan or something of that nature that Mrs. Lotz appeared in on discovery or history Channel around 2002-2005 on a Sunday evening, but I found this, and I'm glad I did bc I've been wounded, a wounder, a Christian is exile. I'm not alone, and it does hurt worse from fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, but we are all human. May we all remember we are human and to give it to Jesus, and learn to forgive freely as God forgives us freely who ask. ❤ 🙏

I found this book during a time when I had been wounded so deeply that I didn't know if I could survive. I have been hurt deeply before, but not by God's People. My take away was that there are Christians and then there are Christ Followers. I have clung to my friends who are Christ Followers. I can't tell you how much this book helped me. As always, God has provided the right tool in my hands at the moment that I needed it most. Thank you so much for your honesty and this beautiful book. Whenever I hear someone talking about being hurt at church, I recommend this book. God Bless you and yours!

I was rejected and treated horrible by the church and christian family and friends when I divorced my husband of 25 years who was a terrible drug addict, and cheated on me continually. No one even spoke to me for 6 years. But the Lord always loved me and was with me. I needed so much healing after all of this. But I have not been able to find a church home anywhere in 10 years of searching. I learned to count my blessings and keep my eyes on Jesus.

There is an old saying "Alone you are born , Alone you go through life and Alone you die, and IF you get to meet a friend along the way, then count it a Gift for it is Rare!" the song Reverend Mr Black by the Kingston Trio eloquently expresses it. Of course that is Not the Way the Lord intended Life to be, unfortunately that is how Life is even among so called believers. If it wasn't for my wife, my only friend, and Jesus, my only TRUE and Personal Friend,...I do not know how I would have made it through life thus far!!!

Interestingly, if I listened to friends and family, I'd never pursued unmasking purpose. It was ironically a certain village of Christians who cold turkeyed me and ignored my cries for help when I started. In fact, other than CBN, no one has prayed over the channel. The Christian community has largely discouraged me as being Bipolar and maniac and not hearing from God in regard to unmasking purpose. Thankful CBN prayed for me and my Channel. Also encouraged me when no other Christian dared.

Of course using the term Have you ever been wounded by God's people. The assumption of course being that people who go to Church are God's people. Over 40 years involved in 'ministry' has proved ghat many, many church goers are not necessarily God's people. In fact probably a vast majority are not.

I think it sometimes seems that way, as you say, many people in churches don't seem to act like God's people. But I think we have to remember that, although it's not an excuse to behave badly, we still grapple with our humanness. While we live in these human cases, we will always battle with the flesh and its flaws, even when we've been born again, including attitudes. Many blessings. :)

Sadly true. As a single introverted Mom ( widowed ) not relevant necessarily, but I encountered many demonic men and was shunned by many women. I can't begin to tell you how confusing it all was for me. It caused me such great pain, it affected me in ways I see only as a 70 year old now. I needed support and went to church receiving the opposite of what I prayed and needed for my little girls and myself. Turned me against church for many years. I've learned a lot and don't look to another human being when needing my Lord, always.

Solid Counsel! Go to the Lord, seek Him, read the scriptures. currently in the UK there are churches that do not want "unvaxxed" Christians in their "church" or home. However, there are also church leaders who do not want people who want to evangelise! There are leaders who dont want supporters of Israel within "their church"!. On one occasion I visited a church and when they took the offering box round they missed me out..."hes a visitor, dont go to him" I of them said to another one...OR "his money isnt good enough for the House of the Lord here! Move on, seek the Lord, read the scriptures and today, there are plenty of good teaching available on line

God can take what has been broken and remake it into something better, something that He can use for His glory. Broken things and broken people are the result of sin. Yet God sent his Son, who was without sin, to be broken so that we might be healed. On the night before He died, Jesus broke the bread and said, “This is my body, which is broken for you.” He went all the way to Calvary to die so that we can live. His death has made it possible for broken, sinful humanity to be reconciled to God and be healed. Without the broken body of Jesus, we could not be made whole. “But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5). Jesus viewed all things in the light of eternity, and so should we: “Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart” (Hebrews 12:2-3). God draws us, He calls to us. He longs for us to come to Him so He can heal us. Often, we are unable to hear His call because we’re so busy with other things - our lives, our families, our work, our own problems and unhappiness. Sometimes we must be broken before we realize our need. And our deepest need is to be reconciled to God. Only then can we be made whole (Matthew 5:5). The solution can never come from our own efforts or striving, but comes only from Him. Only when we recognize our need for God are we able to take our eyes off ourselves and focus them on God and Jesus Christ. Only when we stop thinking about ourselves and start thinking about what Jesus did for us can we begin to heal. Only when we admit our need and ask God into our life, can God begin to make us whole. Only when we confess that we are broken can God make us into what He wants us to be. Once we let go of self and place God at the center of our lives, everything else falls into place (Matthew 6:33). During the final week of Jesus’ life, He was eating a meal, and “a woman came with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, made of pure nard. She broke the jar and poured the perfume on his head” (Mark 14:3). The woman’s action of breaking the alabaster jar was symbolic of a couple of things: Jesus would soon be “broken” on the cross, and all who follow Him must be willing to be “broken” as well. But the result of such costly brokenness is beautiful, indeed. Surrender to God and allow Him to make you whole, to give your life meaning, purpose and joy. Trust Him. “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28).

Very well spoken. We all MUST remember Jesus speaking of forgiveness in the story of the king taking account of his servants reckoning them. One owed him ten thousand talents which would be a fortune today and commanded the whole family to be sold but the servant worshipped him and asked him to be patient until all be paid and the Lord of that servant was moved with compassion and forgave him the debt. Then when that same servant went out to collect a small debt and took him by the throat (meanness) and demanded that he pay all. That servant fell down at his feet and asked him to be patient and pay all but he would not hear of this but cast him into prison for the small debt he owed. The sum of the story is as Jesus says. that our heavenly Father will do likewise if from our hearts we do not forgive others of their trespasses against us. Sobering story. As sometimes our own wicked heart cannot forgive, we ask God to wash over our hearts so that we may forgive the very small affliction that other people inflict to us. May God help us all.

But on July this year, i found out that she is telling her friends at church about my problem. And the worst is, she is also hacking my whatsapp, so she knows about my work plan, meetings and so on. I left the church on July this this year. She once asked me why my whatssap isnt working. She is concerned the whatssap over my presence at church. I have no trust left. It was like a nightmare. Church is the last ressort to find peace and trust. Am i wrong to leave the church? Right now i am attending service in other church.

There is no case that can be made Biblically for a woman preacher period paragraph end of discussion The Church is caving in to women preachers, with Paula White (who claims to be a Pastor) a whole bunch of leading evangelicals endorsed her new book. She’s a heretic and a prosperity preacher, three times married. What are they thinking? !! When the leaders of evangelicals roll over for women preachers, the feminist have won the battle. The primary effort for feminist not equality. They don’t want equality. That’s why 99% of plumbers are men. Feminist don’t want equal power to be a plumber. They want to be Senators, Preachers, Pastors, Congresswomen, Presidents, or to be in a power position at a university, in short, they want power not equality. -Part of Dr. John MacArthur’s talk in a conference.

The enemy is using "christians" to wound fellow believers. Ghandi had it right when he said "I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.” At some point churches are going to have to step up and implement discipline for wounding as outlined in scripture. We have been wounded as well and seen a good church totally botch it.

Wounded by God's People ? How much damage did her daddy do to Yahweh's people ? And how much does the Graham family continue to do with false teaching ? Just the fact that Anne Graham is appearing on the 700 Club should be a warning sign to the House of Israel - Yahweh's people. The 700 Club is certainly no beacon for true believers .... so the saying: birds of a feather flock together makes perfect sense here.

This is the same thing that happened to me, and I also got closer to Jesus in this time as well. He feels our pain because he was wounded by his own. He is so amazing. God is good.

She's Beautiful and this message is needed so bad. I've had this happened where ministers because I left a church by Gods instructions and left in love have lied and gossiped about me brutally. Its disgusting and the body of Christ needs to repent of this.

I have been wounded deeply by my husband's family who are supposed to be Christians . It started 9 yrs ago when my husband was in the hospital dying . His sister started spreading lies about me . I have forgiven her but to this day it brings tears to my eyes . I thought I was appart of his family for 31yrs . And it hurt deeply the things said about me by her and others in the family . I have been praying for God to heal me of my broken heart . I was attacked when I was most vulnerable .

Sometimes people lash out when they are hurting themselves, this happened to me when my husband died a close family member of his family told me I'd never loved anyone only myself-I felt devastated at the time even thinking that must have how I'd appeared. Pray for the people who have hurt you, when we want only the best for them we are in effect stopping the attack on ourself. God Bless.

I have a severe case of Post Traumatic Church Syndrome, and worship blessedly alone with my God now, thank you very much. The man who organized John MacArthur's Strange Fire conference actually kicked me out of his car on Easter Sunday 2015, after inviting me to dinner with his family, because I refused to deny that Jesus came to me in a dream -- and his church supports him, snd believes he was serving God to abuse me like that. Oh, and BTW, I'm a dissbled woman in a powerchair.

Recovering Baptist I’m so sorry. That man obviously needs the REAL fire of God. How awesome that God gave you that dream and that you had the courage to treasure that gift He gave you and resist that religious spirit.

I go to church some but no longer trust them as they no longer reflect Jesus and too much conflict. (For years I loved church, was active, contributed) Like hundreds of others today I feel more belonging and less anxiety with an on line church. They preach heaven and hell and prophecy like evangelists of old and seem to really reach out to people.

Wow...a body of believers applauded when they voted out of their church a brother and a sister. Actually applauded. Just one of the many reasons I have not returned to a church building.

@Jane Marsee Hi no I'm certainly not having a superior attitude or hiding behind any excuse. Just a fact. I love my brothers and sister and fellowship with them and my Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit. The church today is not proclaiming to seekers to follow Jesus, but to follow a man made doctrine, point of view, a ministry or superstar evangelist with the latest revelation. Unfortunately when the man made doctrine is not followed or sincerely questioned wounding takes place. Goodness yes we are imperfect! Every one of us! Me being the biggest imperfection. But, the amazing most beautiful thing is my Father God doesn't see my imperfections. Jesus has covered each and every one of them. And you know what? He loves me all the same. And I'm encourage to keep putting one foot in front of the other follow Jesus who paid such a high price for me. To be clean and washed in the blood before my Father. It's not the imperfection Jane, it's the continuous wounding of others in the Body of Christ. And yes we walk daily in forgiveness of one another. It's just the loving, gentle all knowing all seeing God that Jesus made a way for me to know and seek and be fulfilled isn't just in the building on Sunday mornings or even Wednesday night. In fact He's right here. Right now and He's making it known to me how very much He loves you. I do too. So getting back to what led me to comment in the first place. A group of people who call themselves Christians applauded when the were voted out of their group. Were they so imperfect that they could no longer hang out with that group? That is not the God I serve. Please don't judge others you don't know who are fulfilled and walking with Jesus daily, but do not attend the tradition church building as we have been taught by men to do. If God directs me to go to a gathering at a building, I go. I'm just not following the building. Knowing the Truth sets you free. And my heart and mind are free in Jesus, because He made a way for me to know God's Truth.

I am glad she wrote this book because I was hurt in church many times it was so painful than from who are not believers ,even pastors wife she was rude her kids always beat up my kids but because she was pastors wife we couldn’t say anything or she was saying was accident . Not sure how those people call themselves as children of god but do all awful things to you . I left that church long time ago ,after all I found out it wasn’t only me they hurt that’s why that church went down forever .

I know Christians who are genuinely saved, but still retain a negative characteristic that upsets people/me. I know one person who thought she had God’s gift to instruct older, mature people in the church, but upset them (humiliated them) greatly. I know she thought she had this gift because she told us. I love this person but I can’t be around her.

I grew up in a family with a Father that was a black sheep of a Christian family. I never met most of my cousins and don't remember any of them ever coming to our house. My Father has died. None of them have reached out to us. These are CHRISTIANS. I was invited to church by my maternal Grandfather at the age of 14 and made fun of by a girl in the Bible study. And years later scoffed at by members of a larger church with people that had money. So yes I'm currently out of church.
