Strangely enough, I never really connected with the song, "Could I have this dance" until after I had lost my wife about two years ago. Since then, I have sat and listened to it over and over again and thought to myself, Why didn't we make it our song. Maybe it is because we were married in 1959 and it wasn't around then. I really wish it was. Have fallen in love with the song and sit and cry a little tear whenever I hear it now!

I have always loved Anne, but when I see her in interviews, I sometimes wonder if she thinks before she speaks of other talented artists.

I think that apart from being refreshingly honest, Anne meant it a little more humourously than it came out, as in calling a tall person Shorty! As well as being honest that Brian Adams songs aren't always HER cup of tea. I am pretty sure Anne Murray knows Brian Adams was never going to be hurt by her opinions. I am pretty sure Brian Adams appreciates they can be honest with each other. He knows he has a huge audience that will always appreciate him and Anne Murray has hers, and I think this was a little cheekie sideswipe meant as humour and honesty about her personal preferences in singing his songs or not.

Just lost a lot of respect for this woman. Now I know why Gordon Lightfoot wanted nothing to do do with her.

Ha?...It was none other than Lightfoot who inducted Anne into the Juno Hall of Fame. Anne recorded Cotton Jenny as well....and the two of them are about as iconic in Canada as it gets. I've never heard that Lightfoot wanted nothing to do with her.

If you're talking about her remarks about Bryan Adam's, I think it was meant a little different than it came out. I believe she meant more that his songs didn't necessarily fit her style and voice, not that it wasn't good.

@@b.boston8529essentially what I came to express. Anne probably envisioned a chuckle from the audience instead we heard a quiet pitty gasp from the host
