FINALLY, a bach violin saraband without shitloads of vibrato like it was freaking Tschaïkowsky. It was hard to find. THANK YOU.

When I die I hope I go to that transcendental place where Bach heard the miraculous music that he wrote down so we could experience it too.

@mrmusicfan11 I'm just discovering that my sound is much better with no shoulder rest... though I would like some sort of alternative that doesn't stifle the sound at all.. Any advice? :/

In old times the bows were curved the other way, bending out then in which would make the sound hard to sustain and would make the note fade out this sarabanda was suppose to be like that right? So shouldn't she be fading out more if she did I didn't really hear it

Can someone transcribe what she says in German, please? I'm studying the language.

What she said in german?

It could hace been that the main piece she played this concert had a lot of spicatto, and therefore she tightened her bow hair, and forgot about it. Oh well, she pulled it off quite nicely.

@OOOGOODOOO garrett is obviously talented, but theres a reason why he isnt particularly looked up to as a really classical musician who plays bach with all this feeling that she plays with...and im sure he doesnt get flowers from someone in a profound orchestra.

Well, actually I'm not a violinist lol but I play two other instruments. I just don't understand why some people just misuse such great music. Especially of composers as Bach... one of the greatest. And then they stand there on the stage, play it like if it was a nursery rhyme and say they play music. I don't say Garett can't play anything! I like his pop/rock-performances. It's something inventive and you immediately know that this ist great, that's Garett.But his Bach is crap - in my opinion.

Did anyone of you watched Gerrett's version?? That on (of Garrett) is completely horrible in contrast to THAT! I love the way Anne Sophie-Mutter plays... not just this piece, everything she plays great! But seriously, Garrett's version is awful in constrast to this...!
@oborchid14 жыл бұрын
no that is not a baroque bow.

I guess you think you play better than Garrett... hahaha I don't think so! I wouldn't say so aboout him, stop criticizing other person's job, he has worked hard to play that level, I think he's great and he's still young! Perlman was his teacher and mentor, if he says he's good it's because HE IS GOOD!!

I love David, but I have to agree with you. This performance is much better. Anyway I don't like this piece
