I didn’t have much hope at all. I figured Moira was just using AWAE as a way to gain attention to her new project. However, I find it weird that this weekend, AmyBeth McNulty (Anne), Dalila Bella (Diana), and Miranda McKeon (Josie), all made posts/stories on instagram showcasing that they are all in New York. We are so sorry and heartbroke for you guys. There are some Anne with an E fans in the Lockwood and Co fandom (myself included) and when we saw the news a lot of us were hoping it was something positive. I myself didn't get my hopes up because some of the cast from Julie and the Phantoms were commenting on posts and doing tiktoks and it got that fandom's hope up and it also turned out to be nothing. I was slightly disappointed but okay with it being a new project until I saw a reply she made to someone about how we assumed and decided it was AWAE. She was unclear about the clues which also had coincidental references to AWAE and when fans asked her to be point blank about saying “it’s not AWAE related” she did so in a roundabout way but also replied to others with “I’m not playing with you”. It’s not an answer and saying “read what I wrote” is assuming fans know what she means when all of it is still very vague. Then blamed the fans for “assuming” it was AWAE. I was supportive but now it’s just left a sour taste in my mouth. My emotions are mixed and I just need to distance myself from all of it, even after the announcement because that reply was just…not okay.

i would love it if it was AWAE news but even with the clues, it seems to good to be true. Part of me still hopes for a renewal in some way. My best guess was that Moira is working on another project that is related to Lucy Maud Montgomery's work. Emily of New Moon seems more likely as there was a 90s adaptation TV series of the book series. And, that series has lots of similarities to Anne, so I won't not be surprised if Moria would like to make a remake of that series.

I will be for sure happy to see some more of the Anne series as an original reader and obsessed about the full book series and will be curious how they approach this next season. I detest when a series is redone though and they stop at the part the rest have such as with A Series of Unfortunate Events. I was not as happy with The Golden Compass tv continuation and am still waiting for the rest of Sherlock both a new movie and tv series a main writers producers and actors have been no ring for way too long just before c0v1d time and after! It's hard to really do justice to popular book world's though and get the cast right. Re-casting is 50/50 but fingers crossed it goes well for Anne with an E, doesn't look bad so far! 💕

I fell in love with the entire show and its stellar characters, but I'll be honest, I'm in it for Matthew. Considering Matthew's exit is canonically early on in the series, a timeskip to Avonlea in the show or a movie where he's already gone isn't going to titillate me much, especially with a recast Gilbert, who is basically a solid 50% of the Anne adventures going forward. My interest in any series sort of falls off once the main characters start churning out kids, and I've always felt that Anne's early years were her most interesting. If at this point a timeskip is inevitable because the cast has aged, I'll probably give it a skip, especially since it's kind of bummer after bummer after a certain point in Anne's life.

I feel like this whole thing is very intriguing! I have been rewatching this show for quite some time and have always been hoping for a renewal of this wonderful show! I think it would be a great thing if the show did come back, but I feel I would be a little disappointed if the role of Gilbert was switched because, I just feel I am now so used to Lucas playing the role, and seeing the chemistry between the of them on set (Anne and Gilbert), it feels like the show would be offset without the two of them continuing and finishing the series! I would always watch the show if renewed, I am just hoping that Lucas continues to stay with the roll of Gilbert, but again this just an opinion! I love Anne With An E ❤

I really want a season 4 for AWAE, but I do remember asking a long time ago on an AWAE Q and A video that Moira did about if she thought about adapting Emily of New Moon next or the other Anne of Green Gables books but at the time she wanted to finish her adaptation of Anne of Green Gables first. I do remember her saying that Anne With An E was planned to have 5 seasons, but it just didn’t happen unfortunately. Emily of New Moon definitely needs another adaptation imho, but I did enjoy watching the tv series that was made in the late 90s and the 2007 anime adaptation. I also enjoyed reading the trilogy. I truly hope it is either Anne of Avonlea or Emily of New Moon. Edit: maybe one day 🙃

As much as I love Amybeth, I equally love Lucas Jade, and if for any reason he's not returning, it's she'll no for me. I was already turned off because of the woke storytelling and queer agenda crowding out the original story. I'm queer, so I can say that.
