I am SO IN AWE of Your collections Alice. I am living my dreams through your wonderful videos. I have managed to collect a few prized pieces over the years. Funny story, I am a thrifter as well and sometimes find items to create "the primitive look" I want. I found an old ice, wooden "firkin looking" ice bucket for a couple bucks. Last week I painted it and roughed it up. I had chosen a rustic pumpkin orange color and re painted the bright brass straps black. So I was thrilled to see your authentic measure in the pumpkin color. Great minds I might say. Lol I have saved all of your videos and follow your lead! Thank you Anne for your wonderful channel. I may have mentioned in the past, that you were my VERY FIRST You Tube subscription. Hooked for life!!! Thanks

That combing piece could be for carding wool. Some buckets are the outside of ice cream makers. :))

How fun. History with Alice. What is the difference between a bucket and a firkin?

I believe those are flax combs.

Thanks for sharing a beautiful collection! The large combs could have been used to process flax- since many colonial fabrics were linen.

I just watched an expert teach about yellow ware and she said the one that is white on the inside is the English ware and is not as desirable as the yellow ware we have here mocaware is only a mark on the bowl and that's when its called that. I'm sorry but you may be a bit confused as to what you have there, nice collection none the less. The things you have make me melt for sure primitive things are wonderful!

I was wondering if Alice is married and does her mate love antiques as much as she does.

She IS married and her mate does not seem to love antiques as much :) He likes his man cave with his big TV more I think but I'll let her answer that!
