I've been struggling with this overwhelming sense of loneliness for years now, and it feels like it's slowly eating me away from the inside. The absence of human touch and genuine relationships has taken a heavy toll on me. I can't help but constantly yearn for those simple moments, like a warm embrace or holding someone's hand, that seem to elude me. It's like this persistent ache in my heart that never truly goes away, and as the years pass, it just seems to get more intense. I've found myself feeling empty, detached from reality, and sometimes, I think I might be sinking into depression and anxiety because of it. The longing for authentic human connection is relentless. I want conversations that go beyond small talk, someone to share life's joys and sorrows with, and that physical closeness that comes with a real connection. This yearning has chipped away at my self-esteem over the years, making it so much harder to break free from this cycle. Loneliness has made me feel like an outsider, and when an opportunity for connection does arise, I struggle to relate to others. The fear of being vulnerable and the fear of rejection only seem to make things worse, creating a self-fulfilling prophecy of loneliness. In a world that's increasingly individualistic and focused on virtual connections, I'm reminded of the fundamental human need for genuine relationships. The years of isolation are leaving deep emotional scars, but I'm starting to realize the importance of authentic human connections. I need to find a way to reach out to others, seek help, and embrace the healing power of touch, empathy, and compassion. THE BLOODLINE ENDS WITH ME 🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥⛹️⛹️⛹️⛹️⛹️⛹️

There’s a lot of comments here talking about struggles so I’ll paste some excerpts from a message I left under the Nujabes - Aruarian Dance OST. I have a list of things I think we should all do to improve at the end of this comment, if you only really care about the conclusion and not how I came to it or my explanation for why I came to that conclusion. A lot of us feel lonely is this world. Maybe even depressed, anxious, or just generally dissatisfied. The first step isn't a relationship. It never is. It doesn't matter how many friends you have or if you're dating anybody, because the change doesn't start with your surroundings, it starts with *you* . If you spend all your time pursuing others you'll never have any time left to focus on yourself. In (roughly) the words of Brazilian poet Mario Quintana, "If you spend all your time chasing butterflies with a net, you'll rarely catch any- but if you instead spend your time building a beautiful garden, you'll find they come to you." There hasn't been a single more impactful quote on my life than these words. We often seek relationships because the goal seems so sweet if achieved, but these things are built on a shaky foundation if we do not first improve ourselves. The fact is, we try to substitute having relationships for true self improvement because the first step is always so difficult to take. The first gear in a car has the most torque because it takes the most effort to move all that weight from a standstill, but we cannot go nearly as fast in first as we could in second or third despite them having less torque. That is because once we begin moving, no matter how slow it is at first, it becomes easier to keep moving forward and to even accelerate our progress. Surprisingly (or unsurprisingly) human nature reflects our understanding of the world around us, and we can see this in something as powerful and all-encompassing as physics. Like Newton's first law, when we stagnate (or are 'at rest') we want to continue stagnating, but once we begin to move and progress (or are 'at motion') it becomes only natural to keep doing so. Take this into account with setting routines and expectations for ourselves. We'll want to remain as we are and it will take no small amount of effort to change, but it's ok, you got this. I myself struggled with setting routines due to severe depression and anxiety that could leave me bedridden for literal weeks. […] But […] substituting self improvement for a relationship […] didn't get me anywhere either in the end. It was once I realized that I had to make a change and I cleaned up my act that my burdens became lighter. Beginning routines isn't easy. Even something as simple as brushing my teeth every night was difficult at first because I hadn't done it regularly in actual years, as embarrassing as that is to admit. Once I started trying to genuinely better myself I'd often end up missing nights whenever I had forgotten to limit my screen time or when I was particularly stressed by certain events I had going on at the time. While these were regrettable steps back, I never let it totally stop me, and you shouldn't either. Missing a few days, hell even a few weeks or a few months isn't a big deal in and of itself, it's what you do when you get the urge to return to those routines that really matters. You can't maintain a beautiful garden to attract butterflies if you leave it untended. After taking enough time on myself to genuinely improve, I got back into the dating scene. Nowadays it's going pretty well, whereas before I would stress over my partner's every want and need and prioritize them over my own, now I give them space to do what they wish and take time to continue my normal life as it was before knowing them. Even though I wouldn't rate myself as the absolute peak of attraction and I really do appreciate that I'm not the richest person in just about any room, I still have people to go on dates with fairly regularly because I'm confident in myself and confident in the fact that, while I may not be where I want to be just yet, I know for a fact that I will get there someday because I have given myself the tools and the motivation to do so. (Before we ask, I’m here for relaxation at this point. I’ve listened to everything else so much that it doesn’t help and I need some kind of sound to stave off my tinnitus.) […] So what do I suggest? 1. Set a relatively easy fitness routine, something that will keep you active but not cause you to be excessively sore or unable to walk or interact afterwards. A few reps of callisthenic exercises and going on regular walks is a perfect way to start, you can worry about weight lifting and running once those first regiments are so trivial that they hardly require any effort on your part to complete. 2. Make sure to clean your room regularly, as basic as it sounds, and make your bed every morning after you get up. Also do laundry once a week, blankets pillows and sheets included. Ensure you have a regular hygiene schedule that works for you. If nothing else you'll feel satisfied knowing you achieved this at the end of the day. Currently I brush, floss, and rinse every night just before I sleep and I shower every other day because it's healthier for my hair type and my exercise doesn't make me sweat so much that it leaves me smelling bad. 3. Take time to meditate. It's not terribly difficult in all actuality and it can be as short as 5 minutes so there's no reason not to. Play a song that brings you peace loudly enough to silence the rest of the world, and focus on your breathing. Since I have a degree of musical experience I breathe on beat with the song: inhale, hold, and exhale in counts of 4 and 8, alternating every once in a while to ensure my focus is explicitly on my breathing. Once your head is fully clear you can feel free to stop the breathing exercise, but if thoughts begin creeping in again simply resume breathing in counts. 4. Set a schedule for tomorrow at the end of your day. Is there any schoolwork you're behind on? Maybe projects for work? Planning for tomorrow to know what you have to do is helpful, but don't get lost in future plans, it's just as dangerous as any other pitfalls we may fall victim to. 5. Despite its position on this list- this is just about the most important detail to ever getting better. Set a sleep routine. Shoot for 8-9 hours. Over 10 hours is going to leave most people (including myself) drained and so is sleeping for 7 hours or less. For me I try to turn all my screens off by 11:30 PM to 12 AM so I can be asleep by 1 AM and wake up at 9 AM. 6. Try to eat 3 meals a day. I've struggled with that a very long time, even now there are days where I'm only eating 1 meal. They don't have to be excessively healthy, either. It could be something as simple and easy as eggs and toast in the morning, a sandwich at noon, and something like a pasta for dinner. Try to incorporate fruits and vegetables in your diet as well, typically they'll make decent snacks, though I won't lie to you and say they taste as good as junk foods. I always try to have something like a banana with breakfast, and maybe I'll do apples and caramel as a snack time to time, etc. At least once a week I'll have chic-fil-a for breakfast and almost daily I'll end up snacking on something like popcorn or candies and I do still drink sodas, though I've tried to mostly replace them with teas and coffees. Remember that it's okay to eat candy or have fast food even as often as once a day, so long as you're keeping mobile. That's really it. If you keep yourself active and productive, you'll find that things become so much simpler and easier to get through. And always remember (despite the silliness of the source material that most people today might know it from): "The past is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift; that is why we call it 'the present'.". Have a goodnight, fellas and fellettes.
