Refresh the Demon was my first Annihilator Album. Bought it in 1997, I was 12. Still my fav today. Ballistic is ten times better than For the demented but not close to Refresh in my opinion. The clip sucks, but the song is easily the best of the first four of the new album. It's not great Annihilator like Criteria for a black album or Never Neverland (the drumming is not so good and for Annihilator, it's a big problem), but the break is the kind of thing that i love in this band - listen to "My precious lunatic asylum" on "Waking the fury" if you like that kind of break !

The Word Salad section is just too close to be its own entity. I let the 'Alice In Hell' piece in the solo (@2.28) go tho lol I've been very candid with my thoughts on the new album (and every other album from the last 15 or so years) BUT... i have to say..... (The Word Salad section notwithstanding,... ) this is the best thing i've heard from the album,.. in fact this is the best thing i've heard from Annihilator in EIGHTEEN YEARS. Jeff is still the master of writing riffs, but the drums on his last albums are so boring =( The drummers are fine, but it's the way it's written. The old albums had fun, creative drumming. This is just constant double kicks and sounds monotonous. If the drums where a little better this would be unbelievable.
