We do that all the time. I gave a card to a potential older model and She is now $10,000 richer on a tv program. Funny how MOST Women that are approached NEVER investigate. I even did an experiment where I had a famous model hand out cards who worked for Us. Not one called. We even did a casting call for a TV series and out of 200 cards handed out only 20 showed up and out of 20 who showed up 19 made comments thinking it was not real and all they had to do is CALL and THE companies producer who did the casting call and would answer His cell phone there. I know there are a lot of scams out there but give honest photographers a chance. Remember a LOT of producers/photographers see someone special they will simply hand You a card and ask You to call if You are interested.

Krysuna a lot of companies say they’re showing off they’re cloths, but they put you in uncomfortable clothing that’s really revealing and don’t let you wear underwear. A lot of these girls are like 15-27. You also don’t get enough money and they treat you like an object. So I mean modeling for old navy or H&M is great. But as a career or any serious more mature brands is a no no.

If that would happen the poor person would probably continue to not eat and die.. That's heartbreaking to think that things like this actually happen. I'm a model, and one time I was at this casting for Japan, all of us models were talking and our agent came up to a girl and said don't take this personally, but don't participate in this casting.. You know why. Her measurements were 82-61-87.

I kinda do. Because bust is kind of comparable to the number or your bra strap. Just another size on the label. And jeans are in inches. My waist on jeans is 27. On quality jeans. With H&M the zipper opens while the pants just fit with a 29. I don't like H&M jeans. Not cause of the sizing. But cheap material ans they just don't flatter me

Gosh I'm so happy I'm not that skinny anymore. .. And I don't want to be. There was a time when I was starving myself. Everybody was congratulating me for being so healthy... when emotionally, I was a mess. I had no energy left to laugh, sometimes not even to cry and my whole life was evolving around losing weight. Just so that I could get a job in this glamourized dangerous toxic industry. Now I lift weights, I'm heavier than ever before and I'm the healthiest and happiest I've ever been. I eat whatever I want, whenever I want, I'm active. I'm getting straight A's in college and still having a fabulous life. I'm joyful and genuinely happy. Being skinny doesn't equal happiness.

Okay I am NOT body-shaming at all but please just hear me out; the reason why skinny is depicted as good is because it is HEALTHY. It is the human form before weight is piled on. It isn't healthy to be even slightly overweight. It's healthy to eat healthy and work out and motivate yourself and enjoy both mental and physical health and fitness. Any body type is gorgeous but being skinnier/slender/toned is HEALTHY.

@JemimaDoesASMR 6 жыл бұрын
There's your upper hips and lower hips. Your upper hips is what you're thinking of, which is the bones that (on skinny people) stick out on the sides of the stomach a bit below the belly button. The lower part of your hip bones though are around crotch area and if you draw the circle around there it'll match up with the largest part of your butt. It'd be a lot easier to explain with a photo lol but I hope I explained it well enough.

The modeling industry is so twisted. Look I get wanting slim people. The cloths do loom better on tall, slim people. But there's slim like the 90's supermodels and then there's bony. Look at some of the runway shows from the 80's/90's. Those ladies like Crawford, Campbell, Turlington, Evangilsta....they were slim but not malnourished. Why did it turn into this?

sadly its a normal thing not just in modeling but also in aesthetic sports. im a dancer and while there are some expectations of how i should a look as a dude im not subjected to judgement as rigorous as the girls. literally last week our coach told a 14 year old that she has to start watching what she eats if she wants to be a dancer. there was a somewhat famous young dancer in our country who had to take a one year break from her developing career cause her body was so damaged by anorexia (at age 15!) and when she came back she was a little chubby. and some coaches said stuff like 'well its good shes healthy but she certainly looked way better on the floor before'. thats insane and makes me really angry to see my friends suffer like that because of some ridiculous standards imposed on them by grown ass 'professionals'

vince the ratboy PREACH! I’ve danced all my life not wanting to make a career out of it but just because I love it and it keeps me healthy. Our studio was mainly these types of dancers, we competed but most of us stopped competing/performing after high school or college. Cause of this we didn’t have too much pressure from instructors on how to look, but we all knew what we “should” look like and how bad we would look in our costume if we were too big. One day one of our male ballet instructor made a joke about how we always stand in the same spots for bar and imitating changed spots and said, “oh no I can’t stand over here! This mirror makes me look like a size 6!” scoffed and made a face like that was so fat and grotesque. I was 16 at the time and had been wearing a size 6 since I was 11 and up until that moment was dang proud of my size 6. I cried and refused to go back to his class again (I was already on the fence about him as an instructor, but really, I was there so that I could stay in my size 6 jeans not be fat shamed for not being a zero)

@laurenh5299
@laurenh5299 5 жыл бұрын
Hello World our studio only offered modern a few of the summers that I was there and I wasn’t that into it. I did ballet because it’s such an intense workout and it made my form and coordination better. My main style that I’ve continued on with through college is Tap which luckily you can do at any size. Being a very muscular person actually helps with the style of tap I do cause I typically choreograph more base notes and heavy beats. I’ve stuck with hip hop too and again, being more muscular gives me a bit of an advantage in my opinion for that style as well. It was just that I want to be a well rounded dancer and maintain good technique so those ballet classes were crucial to me. I’ve stuck to doing ballet bar on my own at my gym which is actually a better situation for me now because I have enough training to know what my form should look like so this helps me maintain form and strength without feeling self conscious about my shape

Why can’t the modeling industry represent ALL body types? All heights, weights, races, facial structures, whatever. They’ve created this image on how people are “supposed to look”. Tiny frame, tall, tan, ski slope nose, protruding bones... it makes every girl who isn’t all of those things feel like there’s something wrong with them. Everyone is uniquely beautiful and there is no 1 specific mold that everyone should fit

Julia Spanos I’d rather see ads of everyday looking girls and how clothing looks on them rather than really tall and underweight girls. Not that I have anything against girls who look like that, but I kinda want to see what it will look like on me, not someone who looks nothing like me😂ya know?

Julia Spanos whole fashion industry is based on skinny girls marketing the clothes because it look the best on them and they sell it. Putting more diversity when it comes to measurements would mesn thousands of girls losing their jobs. EVERY job has certain requirements and for modeling,those are measur. Everybody wants to me a model these days Honey, it is not happening

The heights and weights are because shoots and shows have only like one size there and there’s a certain way that people look at people at shows. The shows I’ve been to the runways are father away from the chairs and the people looking to get the stuff are taking pictures. The proportions are super important for the pictures.

I’m 109lbs at 5’7 I’ve been told to model multiple times but I’m glad I never went into it bc I already struggle with weight naturally and I can’t imagine if I lost my mindset I’d probably have some serious health issues

I’m 5’10 and 165 lbs :-) hoping to lose 30lbs this summer, because I’m tired of hating myself and my body. However for the past year I’ve had multiple eating disorders working against me, so it’s hard to cope

The thing that also annoys me is that nepotist models like Kendall, Bella, Gigi etc. can look curvy, hot on the runway, they are the ones that get called supermodels, the ones who meet the designers and the other gorgeous, hard working girls have to look like zombie sticks walking behind them... ugh I miss the 90s model generation

Dione , how? Explain. When I say “sticks” I mean the unnaturally skinny expectations that the modeling industry sets for healthy, naturally slim girls to have. When they have to be malnourished and tired to walk on the runway. If that’s what you’re talking about
