Just so you're aware (because I only learned of this recently too!), vinegar is an acid and baking soda is a base, so combining them cancels them out and makes them neutral (like water), so they're not super effective when used together to clean. Using them separately may yield better results! Some people use them at the same time for their garbage disposals and drains because they believe the bubbling causes gunk to be knocked off the sides of the drain, but it's pretty up in the air whether it works or doesn't. It does for some, doesn't for others, who knows When I burned my pan, I scrubbed it with baking soda and got the char off but I think the stain will never leave. The nonstick coat also is pretty pitiful now lol

I use baking soda + lemon juice (because it smells better than vinegar and also neutralizes smells when necessary) to clean a lot of things and it's the reaction that helps. Itsy true that if you mixed them in water like she did they pretty much neutralize and it wouldn't work, but if you apply the baking soda dry on the spot and pour the acid over, the reaction helps remove it. Once it gets bubbly you can scrub it off and clean it. I never burned a pan so not sure it would work for that but I use it to remove greasy stains on baking sheets or grills, and specially to clean the inside of bottles or any place that gets wet often and accumulates calcic residue and/or mold. It also helps to clean the outside part of the pan.

Annika for the pan: try to use less water or else it dilutes the solution of baking soda and vinegar to much! You could also just try to put a heaped spoon of baking soda and a few drops of vinegar until you form a paste and then rub that paste on the burnt part it should help (and then you can adjust with more baking soda or even a few drops of soap).

I saved a pan like this by adding a little water like 2-3 fingers deep and a dishwasher tablet placed directly on the burnt part , then boil it together on the stove on medium heath . After that needed just a bit of scrubbing to get the remaining off.

To clean pots and pans, I get the melamine sponge from daiso and it micro cleans everything off from surfaces without the use of chemicals. You just need to wet the sponge with water and start scrubbing.

Hi annika i noticed that when u were cutting the pastry you used a rounded serrated knife, you should try a pointed knife or scissors for easier cutting but for a blunt edge bowl like that if you press down harder with the opposite side it can actually cut through. Ik you didn’t have the time but you should let the dough thaw before using it bc that way the dough can regain some moisture and not be so frozen😊

u can try putting oil on the burnt area. let it sit for 5 minutes so it's easier to scrape off. and then put baking soda and lemon (without boiling water) and keep scrubbing .

I make a paste of baking soda and dish soap. Wipe it over the stain or burned on pan pour some white vinegar over it . Walk away for 15 minutes come back to wipe clean , I don’t heat it up. Good luck

Cream of tartar w/ just enough warm water to make a paste, let it sit on the pan for about an hr then scrub gently! This saved my stainless steel pans & can hopefully save your future ones!

Just an FYI, you typically don't ever want to use harsh abrasives, steel wool, etc on nonstick pans. It ruins the coating and things will stick to it (even if it's ceramic).( Also, def not good for your health.) You typically just have to get a new one unfortunately. You could try a cast iron, carbon steel, or stainless steel and learning how to cook with them. Saves you money over time too. Haha Edit: also, tysm for sharing your life. Love the videos and how relaxing they are for my hectic work life rn.

I use to work at a fast food restaurant, and the Line Cooks used Sprite or 7UP to clean the grill while it was still hot. That might work for you.

The best thing for the pan is stuff called “pink stuff” but not sure if they sell it in the US. I can send you some. It’s mostly made with vegetable oil so it’s not harmful to the environment. It’s awesome. My oven has never looked so clean.

Look for a product called Bar Keeper's Friend in the cleaning section. It's a powder cleaner I've used to get the same kind of burnt crud off of vintage pyrex dishes I used to sell on Etsy. You might need to try looking at a hardware store, that's where I found it.

Baking soda and vinegar actually are a really good cleaning method When the two are put together, they become a carbine dioxide gas, which works really well for cleaning. I usually sprinkle the bicarb first and then put the vinegar on top with no water and let it react.

Hi, your pan is still fine, it's not dead yet. It's okay to still cook with it and when you wash it give a good extra scrub. It'll eventually come off.
