What an extraordinarily driven and prolific life he's led, really. Still at the age of 74 putting himself at the forefront of contentious issues in a very difficult time. If any of you haven't yet I'd thoroughly recommend his 2007 book Violence in which he dedicated a chapter in the latter half to Israel/Palestine which are very relevant now and very consistent with his current statements.

The fact that this pretty obvious and trivial speech sparked so much controversy is illustrative of the idiocy of our times. I love Zizek, but he used to have a more sharp and uncompromising in his critique. It seems that even after he softened his grip a bit, it doesn't really play well with the neoliberal zombie mindset.
