This is the soundtrack to my childhood. I haven’t played anno 1602 in like 15 years, but as soon as I hear the first note of any of these songs I’m transported back to 2006 and everything seems good and awesome. This was my introduction to the world of gaming and I honestly cannot describe the nostalgia I feel listening to this

Nice to read:) Iam ported back some years earlier. Arround 2000-/01, was 12years old. I have encountered this game earlier but was to young to understand :D But you're right. On my vision, or yours, the world seems to be okay. Well protectet and my only worries was notes at school..which wasnt a big deal If you pay some Attention in school..and good parents. So i had a lot free time :D

Same hear, new cool PC from Dad, sneak into room to play more Anno 1602 then allowed, seeing the intro, having this whole world to explore and to build. I never got really far in the game as a kid, but it was still so cool and it set a cornerstone for myself to be interested in strategy games and started my interested in game dev

Ich hab versucht, in 1602 reinzukommen, aber das war mir irgendwie zu kompliziert. Gerade bin ich dabei, das goldene Schiff in 1404 zu bekommen. ;) Edit: So, habs geschafft. War schwer.

@Chris R Kommt wohl in etwa hin. Den Hohen Rat hab ich nach ca. 130 Stunden ungefähr zur Hälfte fertig. Sich mit Lucius anzufreunden, hat echt keinen Spaß gemacht ... Das Emirat bereitet mir derzeit aber leider ganz schön Probleme.

höre mir gerade die musik an und heule wie ein schlosshund. All die Erinnerungen, die ich damit verbinde, sowohl mit meinem Vater, wie auch alleine. Ein episches Spiel, mit einem epischen Soundtrack. Danke Sunflowers, ihr habt mein Leben besser gemacht, und das ist es was ein Spiel erreichen sollte, zuviele haben das aus den Augen verloren. Computerspeile sind Kultur und können dasselbe auslösen, wie eine gute Oper.

I'm just crying. When I was 5 years old my brother and my uncle were playing this game together and I was watching them. They didn't allow me to play because I was little. I was always crying to play because it is an awesome game. ''1st Beginning'' always gives me goosebumps. Now I'm 18. I'm gonna play it as soon as posibble.

I read the book settlers of Catan from Rebecca Gable while listening to this, and I must say, now I feel two nostalgic feelings: one about playing this game and second about reading that book. The feeling of adventure, discovery and hopefulness… a rare feeling nowadays.

Ich schließe die Augen, höre die Musik und ich sehe mich als 10 Jähriger Bub im Wohnzimmer an einem 15 Zoll Röhrenmonitor Anno spielen. EInfach schön diese Zeit. Ich bin froh mir die "Remasterd" Version gekauft zu haben. Meine Kinder sollen auch mal so ein schönes Spiel sehen! Danke Für diese schöne Zeit Anno!

Meine Frau hat zufällig mitgehört als ich diese Musik genoss und spontan gesagt: "Das ist ja richtig schöne Musik!" Und ich konnte ihr dann sagen, dass sie aus einem Computerspiel stammt (die Musik, nicht meine Frau). Da hat sie aber nicht schlecht gestaunt, sie, die Computerspiele etwa so gut leiden kann wie James Bond seinen Martini gerührt.

Bach. Dieses Spiel hab ich stundenlang gespielt... Tag für Tag. Irgendwann weiß man welche Lieder gespielt werden.

I have played this game as a kid in the late 90's early 2000's for tens of hours. Then I forgot about it for years. I was always very deep into classical music and I did not know why. Now looking back at the soundtrack, I understand why. I can see myself at the age of 9/10 playing this game. And I can now play the original music composed by Schubert or Bach on this soundtrack, with my clarinet. I feel the nostalgia, that's very powerful

Dieses achievement hat sich so dermaßen in mein junges Gehirn eingebrannt, dass jedes Mal, wenn ich mal wieder (regelmäßig) von Anno 1602 träume, genau das das prägendste Erlebnis im Traum ist. Und es ist jedes Mal auf‘s neue schön :D

Ich war damals 11-12 Jahre, als ich dieses Spiel gespielt habe. Ihr könnt euch gar nicht vorstellen, wie unglaublich großartig ich mich gefühlt habe, als ich endlich herausgetüftelt habe, wie ich mein eigenes Werkzeug herstellen konnte.

When I was a kid, the son of my father's best friend gave this to me and I fell in love. Back then I was too small to fully grasp the game, but now that I am older, I come back to the game once in a while. Have bin a fan of the series since then. Playing Anno 1800 at the moment, but nothing compares to the original. It has got its own atmosphere, especially with this soundtrack. It's so simple but that makes it great! Btw. Reading those comments makes me feel very happy because I see that we all have similar feelings on that game.

I don't remember Ave Maria, Brandenburg, Bach Air and Amazing Grace being part of the soundtrack, and I've certainly spent several hundred hours of my life with 1602. Is this a special version of the soundtrack? Of the cover versions, I only remember Greensleeves.

Probably came with the New Islands, New Adventures expansion, cause the base 1.0 game I played as a kid didn't have those songs as well, but my GOG copy, which includes the expansion has them.

Amazing soundtrack. Either I'm mistaken or some of these are a little too fast (for example Entry of the Cavalry. 0.75x is too slow, I'm thinking it's somewhere in-between. Either that, or my computer was so slow back when I played this that the music also slowed down as well!

As long as the soundtrack isn't "remastered" please. AOEIIDE is an excellent remake but the soundtrack still doesn't feel right compared to the original. Felt overproduced.
