Annoying Things African Parents Do To Their Kids

African parents love to show their power in their homes. Something as simple as calling their children becomes a big deal if their children don't respond right away. Check out how we all wish things were at home compared to how things really are in an African Home.

When the toothpaste or soap is finished and your African parent finds any and every way to revive it. LITERALLY they will cut the toothpaste bottle open and scrape out the remains and say, "IS THIS NOT TOOTHPASTE?!?!" Or they will fill the 'empty' soap bottle with water, shake it, and say, "IS THIS NOT SOAP? FOOLISH GIRL!" 👇(like if you feel me)

There is a LOT of ego and toxicity involved in the way black and African parents raise their kids. We laugh a lot of it off, but those experiences manifest themselves later in life. The idea that any parent is doing their child a favor by meeting basic needs (food, shelter, and clothing) is delusional. The idea that your children are your property, or your servants is toxic and degrading. I’ve seen people primarily in lower economic classes doing this. It’s as if on a subconscious level the parents are trying to compensate for the lack of respect or status that they receive in mainstream adult society. The parents have this need to feel superior to someone (goes hand in hand with extremely poor people who are also very prejudiced), so their kid will have to do. It’s sad, and embarrassing to see. I honestly feel bad for children who have to grow up with these parents. They’ve been born to parents who quite frankly cannot really teach their children how to successfully integrate into society…because they themselves don’t know how to be successful in society. Yet, they expect to be worshiped and deferred to by their kids. Kids who didn’t chose to be born into a difficult situation. Kids who never chose them as a parent.

This is seriously painful to watch. When there is absolutely no love shown to a child raised in this manner, especially in the West, it can be really soul destroying. To this day I find it hard to accept that Ghanaian parent can be so rude, self-centred and self-important and still expect to be loved freely rather than receive the obligatory honour out of a sense of duty and obedience to Almighty God. For me personally, I find it completely unacceptable. Let me clear, I refer to parents who behave as in this video without the mitigation of any genuine demonstrable love for their child.Does anyone else feel this way?
