Do you have any suggestions for people considering this for high school age home school students? Especially for kids that want to learn on their own and don't always listen. Teenage years can be so hard and these kids need more structure to keep them on track. Thank you for posting your review.

I recommend the College Saver plan with Study.com. As a homeschooling high schooler, we enrolled in the monthly homeschool plan for our oldest daughter. She is taking college credit courses for the Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with Marketing that will 100% transfer to the Thomas Edison State University program. She is enrolled in the monthly homeschool program and then when she is ready to take the web-proctored final exam, we will switch her account to the College Saver plan for that month. She can take 2 college exams and when she passes, she will get college credit that can transfer. She is currently taking 4 college classes and the 9th grade homeschool Algebra I. Thus, by December, she will have 12 college credits towards her Bachelor's degree while also earning homeschool high school credit that keeps her eligible for the local high school athletics team. Our state allows homeschoolers to participate in the local high school of residence athletics and extracurricular activities. If your teenager needs more structure, the Study.com curriculum can provide that with the course outline, videos, written transcription, study flashcards at the end of each course, worksheets, and practice tests. Study.com lays everything out for you and your student. If your student has other outside interests that require eligibility (like athletics), then that can be a great motivator because you, the parent, will have to turn in a grade report each quarter to prove eligibility. Study.com provides the grades as your student progresses through the course. I hope this helps and if you decide to enroll your teenager, make sure to check the above description so you can use my discount code for the 1st three months!

Can you choose how many days a week you child does schooling?

Study.com is a curriculum so you can choose to use the curriculum as you like. It is not online school or a virtual academy. For example, my husband and I are home educators; therefore, we choose the days, the hours, and the curriculum for our 2 daughters. We chose Study.com because we can use as much or as little of it as we like. Because Study.com is a monthly fee for the homeschool curriculum, we choose to use the entire 7th grade homeschool curriculum (math, science, language arts, history, and music) so that we have everything in one system. Our daughters work through the curriculum 4 days per week for about 5 hours each day. On the 5th day, we choose to do an enrichment day - this day can vary depending on when we choose to do a field trip, library trip, arts/crafts, etc. Study.com is a very flexible program!

Hi. We’re looking to homeschool our 8th grader this year. What’s the difference between their basic program for 29.99 a month and the upgraded plan for 59.99 a month in terms of what the parents get for planning lessons and keeping track of progress?

I'm not as familiar with the $29.99 per month but I think it is the Teacher Classroom Plan; therefore, the teacher would have access but not the student. I would recommend the Homeschool Plan for $59.99 You will get both the parent dashboard and the student access so that you can select the courses to add to your curriculum. You can select the completion date and Study.com will create the schedule so that your student knows what they have to complete each week to stay on track. Study.com will automatically grade the quizzes and chapter tests as long as your student completes them digitally. Study.com has an entire 8th Grade curriculum which is the easiest way to select the courses. Or, you can compare what your 8th grader would be taking in the their local school if they attended and select Study.com courses that would align with their curriculum. Another option is the Study.com College Saver program where your 8th grader could start to select college level courses and receive college credit after they pass the web-proctored exam. You have lots of options and flexibility!

Does the $59.99 family plan cover one student only? Do you pay $120 monthly for 2 students?
@jeanettedewitt
@jeanettedewitt 10 ай бұрын
@@cesarsuarez2010Yes, the $59.99 covers one student. If you have 2 students, then you would pay each separately. You can also choose the annual plan for greater savings.
