1:25 i dont understand how if the photons r absorbed in the anode (and therefore not projected right?), how the top part of the anode (the thicker part..which presumable absorbs more photos than the thinner bottom part), produces more concentration of projected protons than the thinner bottom part of anode, which presumably absorbs less photons..and therefore emits more for projection? although i do understand how the slight increased distace towards bottom of anode from cathode means the beam is less intense?

Notice the direction of travel of the photons in the diagram. At a constant given depth from the surface, photons generated at the top of the anode traveling towards the anode (e.g. those traveling parallel to the surface, so down and to the left) are more likely to be absorbed by the anode material than those that traveling in the same direction but generated at the bottom of the material because there is more material to travel through for photons generated at the top. However, at the same constant given depth, photons generated at the top of the anode traveling towards the cathode (e.g. those traveling perpendicular to the surface, so down and to the right) travel through the same amount of material as those traveling in the same direction but generated at the bottom of the anode. You can repeat this argument for all depths from the surface.

The other parameters that affect the Heel effect is the "kVp" and the anode material.
