Great message. We must remain/abide in Christ to produce fruit. Eventually there is a danger of being cut off. John 15:5-6 NKJV "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. [6] If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.

God lead me to your video and as I was watching it and reading the passages you mentioned but I was getting even more confused. Not because you explained in a confusing way, but because of the complexity of this topic. But I prayed and the Lord gave me understanding. Specially of the verse 22 in Mathew 7. Before we get the gifts we need to have the fruits. That's why the conversion of the heart needs to happen before the baptism of the Holy Spirit (the one which we receive the gifts). And earlier on Mathew 7, in verses 15-19 God says about false prophets and that it is by the fruits that you know if a prophet is false or not. And then in verse 22, it says about the ones who operated with the gifts in Jesus' name but who Jesus Himself never knew them. So, that is because their hearts were never really converted. The conversion of their hearts probably wasn't genuine, and if it wasn't genuine it can't produce the fruits of the spirit. And without the fruits, the gifts are worth nothing. Hello there! You have a point. However, I think the conversion of the heart doesnt automatically produce good fruit. There is an extend to which we allow Christ to live and manifest through us. We can accept Christ and be born again, but we have to renounce to self, and let Christ live through us each day more and more so it produces good fruit. With gifts, the reality is, there are people who have gifts but don’t have fruits. It doesn’t mean their conversion wasn’t genuine. It may have been at some point, but then they haven’t crucified the flesh, so the Christ-like character is not visible in their lives. Now regarding if the gifts come after fruits I am not entirely sure. I have non a Christian people with gifts who have used their gifts for the enemy. For example, people with prophetic gift who turns into card reading and the witchcraft. Or people with a gift of teaching who teach the wrong things, manipulating crowds. But in this case, I think it’s not “gifts of the Holy Spirit” but just gifts and talents in general.

It’s a complex topic and maybe you haven’t yet encountered this kind of teaching before, so I understand if it might be confusing for you. Just continue reading the Scriptures wherever the Holy Spirit guides you for your particular life and walk. Each person has his/hers rhythm.

​​@@NaomiIris Yes! I agree with you 100%. I didn't express myself well when i said that the conversion of their hearts weren't genuine. Maybe it was, because when the Holy Spirit meets someone who gave his/her life to Christ it is genuine. And is in that moment that the walk of faith starts, and it's through that walk that the fruit is produced. And it is something that comes with time as well, and so much sacrifice too! We have to really deny our flesh right? And regarding if the gifts come after the fruits I think that was something God revealed to me after watching your video. It is exactly how you said, there are people who uses their gifts not for God, and if is not used for God probably it wasn't sent by God. Because the gift is the Holy Spirit operating through us, not us working with our own hands. So if it's the Holy Spirit who works when He gives someone a gift, it can't be used for things that are against God. The fruits, in my opinion doesn't necessarily come before the gifts, also because producing fruit is something we have to be doing always and it is a forever work in our walk of faith. But for you to receive the gifts, you must have gave your life to the Father and start living according to it, and as you do it, you star producing fruit. So, in conclusion, I think both the fruits and the gifts have to operate together. And also not saying that the fruits are more important than the gifts, but certainly the gifts can't work without the fruits, as it is a confirmation of the Holy Spirit in that person. But on the other hand, the fruits can work without the gifts as we see so many people being impacted just by the love, kindness or joy of someone's heart.

This is what Matthew 7:22 was all about: People casted out demons in His name, prophetised in His name, (so they had gifts and external anointing) but were outside God's law, having no love. So it is possible to have the gifts without producing fruit. There are so many people who prophetise but are mean and unpatient. What I meant by which one comes first, I didn't mean chronologically what comes first. But rather in order to importance to God. Fruit is more important than Gifts.

Yes, the naive enthusiasm for supernatural phenomena, especially among the charismatic and Pentecostal churches, is dangerous. The Holy Spirit's job is to bear witness to the Son, and the Son lived a sinless life (but that doesn't mean he was always nice). However, if the fruits of the Spirit are lawlessness, the Spirit has not witnessed the Son, but something else. (1Jo 5). Additionally, it is typically underestimated that the spiritual gifts of Paul and Isaiah are different.
