This doesn't work because X-ray'd cases get consumed upon getting x-rayed. Even if it didn't, it doesn't lock the item in the case, it locks in your "free" unbox until you pay your 2.35 eur ramson..

Is this Xray feature not abusable though? You can create hundreds of new steam accounts and send each of them a case and if there’s no knife inside of it, you move on to the next account meaning you won’t have to pay for a key

Doing a big case opening with xray is a pain because you can't buy like 20 keys at once, you can only buy them one by one, add up the fact that the steam browser is slow af and you see why it takes forever and there are no french streamer doing case openings regularly.

@@jhc577From what I've read you need to change your Steam Accounts country to France and make a succesfull purchase to get CS to think you are in france. At that point it doesn't make sense anymore since you can't access the X-Ray scanner anyway unless you buy the P-250 X-Ray package which I think simply costs the price of a normal Key.

Now this might be a dumb question, but couldn't you kinda scam the X-Ray with a VPN? Like this: You scan a case, and if you don't want the item, you VPN out of France and just open a different case the regular way. Then you hop back to France and you can scan a new one. Would that work? Then you could limit your losses by at least 50% (and also just sell the shit cases on the steam market)

Apparently you have to set the Country on steam to France and make a purchase to get the game to think you are in France and get the X-Ray functionality. I assume Valve has put in something to prevent exploits like this.
