It's wierd to think about, but the stereotype of "gym bros" doesn't exist for no reason. There are a lot of guys, and even a number of gals out there who are quite eager to get others into their favorite hobby. I think it largely comes from them being one subgroup of a much larger sphere that can broadly be labeled as "self-improvement enthusiasts". My sister is one of them, and the general hobbies of that crowd is all about learning self-improvement. Whether it's physical fitness, dietary biology, psychology and mental health, or something like that.
