I cannot find the original Lindy sports article, others articles that quote this article keeps saying it’s an opposing coach. I don’t know what qualifies as “opposing,” but this sounds like Spurrier. Twice the “ opposing coach” comments about Shawn Elliott positively. Spurrier loved Elliott, and wanted him to take over as the permanent hire after he left. This seems like he’s trying to put his thumbs on the scale towards Shawn Elliott eventually becoming the head coach. I don’t think any current SEC coach gives a rats behind about the state of the locker room in South Carolina, and they definitely have no desire to give South Carolina any bulletin board material that could give USC an advantage against them in a game later this year.

Depends, go 3-9, yes. 5-7, probably gets another year. I think we'll go 7-5. Schedule brutal but talent and depth increased both sides of the ball. OL and injuries ruined last year. No running game at all kills an offense. Don't think we see that this year with OL and RBs. D will definitely be better.

You talk like someone ignorant of the history South Carolina football has had for most of its existence. Just because legends like Spurrier and Holtz had some great seasons doesn't mean we're a program that will be frequently on the top. That's just naive and wishful thinking. We're competing against multiple programmes with a history of success which brings prestige, better recruitment structures and more money. Georgia even in down years was better equipped for success. So is LSU, Tennessee, Auburn, Bama obviously, Oklahoma and Texas. Ole Miss has better NIL too. People with common sense realise that and see the good things Beamer does. Are you gonna send some millions to nil out of your pocket to improve things?

It was Mark Stoops. Gamecock fans want it to be Eli Drinkwitz because that hate and resent Mizzou's admission to the SEC. Carolina fans want the league to vote Mizzou out of the SEC. What's hard to swallow for South Carolina is that during Missouri's 83 year tenure in the Big 8/Big 12, they only won 3 division titles. In just 12 years, Mizzou has won 2 SEC East division titles and own teams like Ole Miss and Arkansas. Adding insult to injury, Mizzou is an elite AAU research institution, one of only 4 currently in the SEC which frustrates many. If the truth were know, Oklahoma and Texas has watched Mizzou's progress in the SEC and decided, "we want some of that."

He lost every press conference from the “chain crew was eating hotdogs so I couldn’t try a trick play” to start the second half thing against North Carolina, to kicking water coolers, to crying after the Clemson game to badmouthing the facilities at Mizzou after we just got beat like our name was Tina Turner. I don’t know if you noticed, but he even got testy the spring when someone asked him if they thought fan support would waiver after a 5-7 season and he came at them hard spouting off something about a sellout crowd at the fish camp where they held the previous nights gamecock club meeting. Plenty don't find him too emotional nor immature and like him. They consider him honest, not fake, loyal and passionate. A lot of people tire of empty coach speak and tight lipped coaches. And most people don't even have any actual judgment that isn't purely coloured by results. If he was winning people would find themselves excuses for his behaviour but now they criticise when we lose. I listen to plenty coaches and Beamer is overall much more open with information and actually answering questions than most.
