I find stone like that here in north eastern part of the US. Just like that usually in sand stone or slate. Usually these 2 types of stone are found in layers. Thin stright layers. I found fossils in the layers before. On occasion I find round balls like that in the flate stone. I split thr ball but there's never anything in them! I understand the regions are different but what are these balls if nothing is inside?

@@allenstayduhar7139 Some of the Nodules I hit have nothing in them but sometimes they do? You just have to keep trying them and very so often you get one.
