Another hidden gem. Asami co-wrote this song with Mao and this track feels like a precursor to her coming up with the "Dissonance" masterpiece (also together with Mao). BTW, "Paranoia" has never been played LIVE yet and the band has mentioned that in their Japanese tour starting this coming Sunday, they'll be performing songs that have never been played LIVE. So, you never know...

I can totally see this being the stepping stone towards the exercise in awesomeness that is "Dissonance"! In fact, the evidence accumulates to where, just like with Miyako (and earlier, Miho), we can begin to pin down stylistic devices, predilections and recurring musical ideas that allow to recognize Asami as the composer. The ominous intro theme (like in "Winds of Transylvania" where it was admittedly a nod to Beethoven, but seems wholly original here); the jolting blast of raw energy and even brutality to rival anything Miho ever penned; the fascination with the darker themes and topics; VERY high demands to her instrumentalists - even by LOVEBITES standards; and the feeling this band is no white princesses at all, they must be just disguised to have you... you know... "come closer". 😆💀

Lovebites metal taking another trip down to memory lane, the influence of all those classed as the 'greats', yet their very own unique sound. They are lovebites and they play heavy metal. The Crazy thing is that they really don't have a bad song, I've never known this before, and I'm over half a century old ffs, they have me hooked like a teenage fan boy 🤘🎤🥁🎸🎹🐺

I had just listened to this EP again last night and was blown away again how good it is even though I have heard it many times before. This track has one of my favorite intros ever and is in my top 15 favorite tracks from them and crazy to say it is my third favorite on this 5 song EP. Dystopia Symphony and Winds Of Transylvania follow this, holy hell these ladies are an unstoppable juggernaut of awesome! 😲🤘🐺🤘

For me, "Paranoia" is remarkable for the prolonged sections of especially deep vocals from the little Asami, who - as in the bridge section about 6:40 - sounds like some slippery creature of the dark coming for your throat... chillingly different and again, awesome in the primal sense! With this, I am not excluding we could hear her growl one day, even if they don't NEED to add that to their arsenal. 😲 But just seeing as these ladies seem to do all styles, as a challenge to self. 🙃 Also, while I am often at a loss as to what a particular LOVEBITES track references, and this having winks to any number of Thrash pioneers, for once I hear what it reminds me of - especially the chorus! That would be RAGE, the long-running German Power-Thrash institution, how they build their hard-hitting tracks which then often blossom into beautiful choruses. The song that popped up in my head was "Great Old Ones". Uncanny, could any of the girls have heard RAGE now? Hello, Haruna?.. 😇Or is it that the well of ideas is shared on some higher energetic plain? (Tell me I am crazy: 🧐 kzbin.info/www/bejne/d5y0dmmsmMpkgJY )
