It looks like a cutting board would have been helpful. I have stuck in my cook kit the side of a milk jug. I cut it down just where it starts to curl. It sits pretty flat, but the little bit of curl helps to hold things on the board. I also cut up to almost the spout. This helps the board have a little bit of a funnel action. It weighs nothing and takes up do space in my kit, but is a clean convenient way to prepare food. Give it a try next time, I hope it helps. Great for wafting fires as well and a 1000 other uses. Great looking recipe I will have to give it a try. Thanks.

SUPERB IDEA! Looks like an excellent meal. One might even do it as a first dinner on a backpacking trip in not-too-hot weather. In Winter, it would wotk for any breakfast on the trail.

Frankly, as a Jew I don't get it either. I can just sub beef bacon and sausage in and get the same effect. Vegans can easily do a vegan version. Things like this are just good technique period regardless of ingredients.

This looks really delicious!! If I may offer some suggestions...If you wanted the cheese to melt in with the egg mixture to enhance the flavor you could have added a couple teaspoon fulls to the misture and stirred it in prior to baking. Chopped jalapenos and onions could also be used in the mix instead of using the jarred salsa, then you arent having to deal with that jar. Even cherry tomatoes or even green tomato can be chopped and added to the mix. A good smoked ham cubed or left over ground beef could be used instead of sausage and bacon. Endless possibilities; change it up and make it your own!!! Great idea! Thanks!!

Very nice, but I doubt in an emergency situation my BOB would contain several of those items. Real eggs and bacon or anything in a jar, in particular. I guess powdered eggs would work. Grab taco sauce packets from Taco Bell. Unless you're very skilled, don't do wild mushrooms and I know fresh will also be unlikely to make it into my BOB. Think Dehydrated maybe? This makes me hungry though. Nice camping ideas, really. Not so much "bush crafting" IMO. God, I'm gonna miss bacon and fresh eggs if things go bad.

***** Yeah I was gonna ask almost the same question. I thought the pepper was inedible because of the amount carbon. Looks like I was wrong. However, what about 'cooking' the whole thing from inside a can or something? Wouldn't that be better? Thanks for this outstanding idea sir
@recall58119 жыл бұрын
Tactical Freak I never had a problem with cooking in coals, there wasn't any ash or coals stuck to the pepper. Bottom line is do what you feel is safe. The video showed how to cook primitively without pots and pans. If you choose to use them then it would be great. This same idea can be replicated in a kitchen stove. Thanks for watching.
