I beat him by cheating; he has set spawn areas, and one of them is like two steps outside of the Life Preserver beside the Central Vista Moon Snail Shell. He regenerates slowly while underground, but if you chip away at him using dash attacks while repeatedly sending him underground, you can beat him without even giving him a chance to fight back.

He shows up anytime while you’re away from the life-saver rings. Kinda spooky early game

Yeah but you can beat him even if you're early game, just try to be close to the first lifesaver so If he kills you, you get your stuff faster. Dodge him, he's extremely slow and just completely avoid his combo attack, run or span roll, it's very doable early game

That's right, you can just run away from him until you're stronger and then come back. It's a non-optional boss, so you'll have to face him eventually.

If you come back to fight him before Konche prompts you to I recommend at least level 20
