Weird to hear the name of "Edgewater Park!" My hobby is wooden roller coasters and traditional amusement parks. I live in Texas and in 1981, at 13 years old, I was invited to join some new roller coaster friends to drive to Detroit, Michigan to ride a wooden roller coaster that was closing forever after 1981, The Big Beast at Edgewater Park. The ride was rough as hell, but fun, Edgewater Park was a mess, but this long trip to a virtually unknown but historic amusement park & roller coaster is what convinced my parents that this was important to me. I travelled the nation for 3 weeks with coaster friends the next year, 1982. I haven't stopped & have ridden over 40 defunct wooden roller coasters since then, and also have ridden every wood coaster operating in the U.S.A. & most in Europe. This madness started at Edgewater Park!

I’d block my car in and leave notes, big signs on my car, stand outside and laugh at dude when he realizes my car is blocked on all sides with no way to take and then just drive another car everyday.
