I’m from Nottingham but spent a short while living in greater Manchester. My preference is Woodhead but I’ve used the Snake and also Cat & Fiddle several times, in all weathers at all times of t day. My favourite trip over Woodhead was after my son and I went to a gig in Manc and we came back in the dark on a really cold but really clear night. Not a cloud in the sky. Any of the three are so much better than either the M6, M1 or M62. As for trams, they’re a pain - I’m a bus driver and it’s nothing but painful if you get stuck behind one.

Tim my dad is a trucker as well, we are from belguim and he worked for thijs Van Mele he has 4 scania's one of them whas a t cab and my dad drove it for a while and it is difficuilt to drive daily
