@@apieceofdirt4681 as someone who used to work at a 7-11 it's pointlessly risky for no reason to rob them to try to get a lot. The guy would know that too if he wasn't so idiotic. There is never supposed to be more than like 100-200 in the register ever. All big bills are supposed to immediately get dropped into the safe which is literally inaccessible and on a time lock where you can only get a small amount at a time out of it if you need change. They do this to eliminate the risk of losing money, and the risk of the employee having to open the safe for a robber. Because they literally can't do it.

When I was robbed in Philli, I had to sit through a ton of other court cases. One had a woman this guy's size (over 6 foot), with a burned face, that she got as a child during a house fire. The security guard caught her shoplifting, and the girl beat up the security guard and ran off. The judge kept asking the security guard "Are you sure the person who attacked you is this woman, here?" And the attacker kept saying "It wasn't me." How many overweight, 6 foot, black women, with burned faces do you think are running around Philli? Dude... That's your car, your mask, your shoes (the very ones you are wearing right now), your gloves, and your size. "That's not me."

theoretically tho, the best strategy by far would be to just reject everything... The cops are talking to him because they want him to confess. And they want him to confess because the case has some doubt Its very well possible for 2 people to dress the same and look the same. Very unlikely to have so many similarities, but its possible the judge or jury may think its enough reasonable doubt Thats why, possibly, the best strategy if you want a chance of being found innocent, is to just deny everything. Especially since lots of times pleading guilty and making the prosecutor's job easier doesnt always result in a less sentence

Career cop of nearly 30 years, with most of them as a detective. Absolutely you have to clear people of suspicion so you can focus on the right person, and so you don't arrest the wrong guy. I've also found myself in the position of conducting a follow up investigation of some sloppy police work conducted by my colleagues and ensuring that the charges got dropped against a guy who got arrested based on the word of a victim who was knee-walking drunk when he made the "positive ID". You follow the case where it goes, and if someone gets cleared, you move on until you can find the real violator.
@ramsaybolton74644 ай бұрын
@@shindrithargriethrat8408 I appreciate your insight detective. May I ask, are you the exception to the rule? I have heard countless stories about investigators not even caring if you’re really guilty or just and just want to close the case and get you to confess.
@ramsaybolton74644 ай бұрын
@@Ontiming2023 yep when they try and relate to you! I’d like to consider interrogations really good salesmen. If you’re guilty you need an attorney, if you’re not guilty, you really need an attorney. My favorite line is, if you have nothing to hide, just let us search the vehicle. I once saw an interrogator tell the suspect, if you’re innocent you don’t need an attorney. Fun fact, detectives are there to gather intelligence. It’s why they ask you your name, date of birth, and questions they know the answer to to get a baseline. And even if you’re innocent don’t tell cops anything bc every single thing you say will be used in court.

American law is weird, a mandatory 7 years for robbery but you can get probation, or 1 to 3 years in prison for manslaughter or vehicular homicide 🤯
@knurlgnar244 ай бұрын
That's not weird. If you run into a pedestrian while distracted for half a second changing radio stations do you want to spend 7+ years in prison? Because that's what you seem to want. People make mistakes. Armed robbery is not a simple mistake, it's a thought out action that intentionally harms people maliciously.
@anyways424 ай бұрын
@@knurlgnar24You’d be fine if your family member was ran over due to a person changing the radio station, then they only received 2 years?
@americanppls4 ай бұрын
it all depends on the case, noticed he mentioned it could be a federal case. that makes it a MUCH bigger deal in the eyes of the law. in America we have federal laws and state laws. if you break a state law you're going up against that state. if you break a federal law you are going up against the entire judicial branch of American government. Federal sentences are much harsher.
