At this point, I am just feeling ashamed that these courses still don't have enough views they deserve especially coming from a man who does all of this for us❤❤. Thank you Hugo! Learned a lot from you!

DOTS is rather advanced for most Unity users, so naturally the topic will get less traffic than more commonly used Unity features. But these videos are still invaluable and highly appreciated

@@leftyfourguns I mean even his full C# course have less views, which is kind of sad, even being amazingly good stuff

Very nice! I was gonna go through Turbos, but the tutorial seemed a bit meh, and there appeared to be lots of information in DOTS samples anyway, that covered as much if not more, but would not take as long to get through... But then other courses started, and I tried to do some normal ECS. This course seems to not be too long, and I hope/suspect you'll be able to give some good pointers for thought in it!
@JK96CZКүн бұрын
Sounds very cool thanks for making so much high quality courses! So if this course is focused on entities via DOTS system then you will have another one for netcode without DOTS? It something I would use because I wanted to make very simple game with multiplayer and I only found your Kitchen Chaos course which seems more advanced and even claims we should already know basics of netcode.

@DrewofDonutsКүн бұрын
Thank you for everything you do! I just wish Unity’s didn’t require the majority of us to learn an entirely different and less mature paradigm (DOTS) in order to use Netcode that is capable of fast paced games. From a product perspective, it blows my mind that was the direction they took.

Why is this stuff so hard…? Why?!? Also thanks keep up the great work (even though i can’t help me much personally lol).
@CodeMonkeyUnityКүн бұрын
Specifically what stuff? DOTS? Netcode for Entities? C#? Unity in general? Game Dev/Programming is an inherently complex field, so if you just started then it's perfectly normal that it feels confusing at first. The reason why it's not confusing to me is because I've been doing it for 25 years, but I still learn new things every day. So take it slow and just learn one thing every day, then over time you will have gained a ton of knowledge, best of luck!

I must ask. I am trying to set up my Multiplayer game, but Lobby and Relay are deprecated now. It feels better to go into Multiplayer Services sooner rather than later. Is that the same just put in one place or does it differ from your older videos on Lobby and Relay?

What about UI Toolkit with Runtime Data Binding with DOTS?
@CodeMonkeyUnityКүн бұрын
hmm I've used UI Toolkit, specifically for building the Companion project in this course and others, although I haven't yet used it for Runtime UI and I haven't looked at combining it with DOTS at all, I wonder if they have made some official tutorial on that

@CodeMonkeyUnityКүн бұрын
Yeah that really sucked, I woke up ready to record a bunch of lectures and suddenly nothing worked, very frustrating. Not sure I can do an interesting video on that topic, although it forced me to do an upgrade so at least now I have a beefier machine that should help with developing/editing so that's a nice bonus!

recently, i saw a video where a guy developed a game engine in SQL. Taxing in performance but requires no netcoding for multiplayer, lol.
