Thanks for the great content, and for pointing out just how friggin' important "dealer stands on soft 17" is! You got the perfect hand to show it too with that ever so vulnerable 18vA! Other than the doubling hard 12 which I'm entirely sure you did for the laughs and the content, and the hands tha tthe Hard Rock won't let you surrender (grrr) you had ZERO basic strategy deviations. Hits the soft 18 against dealer face. It's the right move. Yet when you go and play everyone always yells at you for doing it. Same for when you double soft 18 against 2-6. And holy hell the uproars I hear when I double my soft 19 against dealer 6. What's crazy is everyone is so adamant that those moves are not basic strategy. The amount of times I've had to pull out the basic strategy chart to show them is too many to even count anymore.

@@plasmac9 A7v2 double and A8v6 double are only basic strategy on subpar, unacceptable games in which the dealer hits soft 17. Unless you’ve got a great double deck or single deck game, or you’re counting on a game allowing you to use a huge spread without heat, I don’t know why you would subject yourself to that.

The problem with free bet blackjack is it gets you to play against the optimal way, so you are more likely to lose. It is fun and if you get a big hand it can pay a lot.
