I've never watched your videos so I was a bit lost when you mentioned UFD at the beginning with no explanation of what that was. I also would have liked to have seen what you did to get to this point before applying the mousse. That said, your results were amazing so the main takeaway for me is to try the mousse. I have high porosity hair so would be a bit concerned about it drying out over the days but I will experiment to see if adding a little water or oil over the days, and maybe banding at night helps to maintain the style.

Uncle funky daughter curly magic is so long. That’s why I put a picture on my Thumbnail so that ones who are not familiar with the products can see what I am using. I always apply my UFD in the shower because it needs a lot of water. I have recorded a video showing the application process explaining how to apply UFD. They are both great, but since I my major style is a wash and go I will definitely be switching out to the Doux!

Hey Asha I Love them both, I would have to choose Mousse Def because you can get the same results minus the silicone. Have you tried Mousse Def or Design Essential?

I've been using just mousse def and feel like my hair is kind of dry. I'm going to try it with ufd as the base. Did this set dry quickly for you? Like more quickly than when you use ufd and ich or Camille rose?

I wouldn’t say it drying time was significantly different maybe 10 minutes less. I have a lot of hair though. I always get impatient sitting under the dryer. The Camille Rose definitely dry quicker.

1st time last night trying a wash & go without oils & etc from your videos. Seeing my coils curls using this combo is unbelievable. I think I was too heavy handed with UFD & Mousse Def since I have a whitish reside in some spots after drying. Any suggestions?

I am very happy with you getting some results 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾. From your comment I can see you are trouble shooting what you can do to make it how you want it to be. I think you got this,since you think you added too much just do less. The whitish residue you can use some water and go over the area and get it out. It’s happened to me before but it was because I added it to a little mousse to an area after I had completed my set. Little water got rid of it. Let me know how it goes.

I have not used this combo when the weather is like it is now 100 degrees. Personally I would only used this combo in cooler months or with the expectation that I will need to reset my hair after a few days . I have not experienced the level of humidity as I have in the past few days.

Hey Maverick, I used products in certain quantity based of the style I desire for that week. I have noticed when I first started doing my wash and go there would be areas areas needing a little more product. Based on hair characteristics, surface texture, density etc Not everyone needs the same quantity of products to get a desired result. I have boys with curly hair I can use a tiny pump of leave in or nothing at all and there hair is living it’s best life same with ufd, if I added that same amount to my hair it would not work. To answer your question it was necessary my hair was living it’s best life. I am about to revisit this wash and go tomorrow with this new mousse def. I hope I answered your question 🖤. @@rosieamelia5955 Thank you so much for responding, and with such detail. I had never used UFD but ran to target and got it after watching your video. I tried your UFD and Design Essential combo and have had the best wash and go yet. I am definitely going to try the Doux mousse. So happy, the hunt for right products 4 my mostly silver head of fine hair has concluded. No more dry hair with single strand knots! My arsenal now contains Ouai hard water detox, innersence moisturizing & AG all purpose shampoo and conditioners, UFD and mousse (design Essential or doux (depending on outcome). Occasionally Olaplex as needed. Thank you so much your content has been very helpful.

I am so happy for you, honestly that’s really all you need especially if it gets the job having those quality shampoo and conditioner is a game changer. I do use Olaplex in my routine as well. I remember telling my sister about this routine I started and she was like I have to deep Condition, I gave her a little AG conditioner and she is like what is this going to do? I tell you she called me back and told me to order her one because she said it has changed her and her Daughter ‘s hair; and as for the small amount I gave her lasted her 5 uses on her daughters waist length hair. She rarely uses her deep conditioner stash.

It’s not drying IMO it just gives a hard cast when first dried. I usually break it with a lil hair serum or at a tad bit of the Bonita balm under for twist outs
