Your projects are dreamy. The half and half colors are so lovely together, the quilt blocks are all like small works of art and I can’t wait to see it evolve. And the baby blanket is so cool- I can totally see your friend putting it on her lap for chilly middle of the night feeds, laying it on the floor for the baby to do tummy time, and snuggling the baby in it in car seats and strollers. What a thoughtful gift. Your dream knits are both so visually gorgeous in such different ways. That calla shawl is a showstopper! Thanks for treating us to your time and energy again!

Oh wow Leena! That baby blanket is looking gorgeous! Can’t wait to see the next colors. It’s always my pleasure to sit and knit with you. I loved seeing the progress on your half and half wrap as I was working on mine today. I agree, the second triangle is the favorite. I have about 30 stitches left to German short row through. Enjoy the knitting and be well my friend

Hi Leena. 😊 The baby blanket is looking adorable!! You have such a good eye for color and the blanket will look so unique when finished. I cannot wait for the final results. I've never made a shawl before and the one on your wish list is really pretty! 💕 l enjoyed knitting while watching your podcast. I am using up scrap yarn making the Palette sweater, a colour-block sweater in 52 weekends of Easy Knits.

My October has been crazy so I have missed your pods. I binged the last 4 this morning. You kept me company while I finished a sock that I started in August. Thanks!! I'm sorry to hear of your struggle, but it sounds like you worked through things. I hope you continue with your channel, I enjoy your thoughts and inspiration very much. Did anyone suggest putting a button inside your Harlow hat? It will help your pompom sit up better. If the pompom has elastic, I loop yarn through it to help get the elastic around the button. I leave it there to help get it off if the hat if it needs to be washed or if you want a different look. I hope this helps!❤

I do the ravelry scrolling before bedtime too😅, and I usually think about knitting before going to sleep as it helps to avoid overthinking on other stuff ;) to be honest, I think about knitting pretty much all the time 😂😂 I think gifting oneself a birthday project is a great thing 😊 and I totally get what you said about the birthday sweater capturing a particular mood. Last year, I went to a yarn store with my mom on my birthday and she gifted me a sweaters quantity. I chose a dark navy yarn with white tweed and as I was walking home in the evening, it started to snow and the snowflakes against the dark sky reminded me of my new birthday yarn 😊 it captured the season and my mood so perfectly (my bday is in december a couple of days before christmas) 😊 I'm already thinking about possible patterns for a birthday project this year. ;) have a great week 🌸

Hello! This is the 2nd episode I've watched of yours and I love how much you share about your design thinking as well as expanding into broader thoughts about life just by the by. This is a bonus to the fact that the items you make look beautiful so I look forward to following along (and probably watching a ton of backlog!) I think that your quilt squares will probably look really great with some higher contrast and some more blendy... it's like a fractal effect, the higher contrast ones are 'louder' and blendy ones 'quiet' so then there is that dimension of contrast as well. I have the pattern and am thinking of poaching the yarn I had for a Kaffe Fassett blanket for it, although it is worsted so I may do intarsia to make it less thick. I now also dream of doing a birthday sweater and I'm a march gal also. Thanks for sharing the concept!
@AnotherKnittingPod Жыл бұрын
I’m so glad you’re here and enjoying it! I appreciate you so much. And yes I think that’s a great way of looking at it. Actually, since reading your message, I’m leaning into that point of view. My current square is very blendy and now I think it will make the overall piece look more interesting. I tried intarsia for this as well and it got a bit fussy to manage. But let me know if you do it! Yay for March birthdays! 🥳
@sandydansy Жыл бұрын
@@AnotherKnittingPod I’ve watched Kaffe Fassett talk about how he does intarsia and he just has long strings hanging off the back of the work that he can pull what he needs out of the clump so I plan to do that… although I’ll try to figure out what length is needed for a number of stitches so I can cut them at a reasonable estimate to avoid needing to splice over and over. Crossing my fingers! So looking forward to seeing your pieces come together!

Thank you for your thoughts about the Big Cozy Cardi. I've been thinking about casting it on for ages but am put off by how very much knitting it is and knowing it doesn't stay on well adds another dimension. That said it looks absolutely fantastic on you so I am still undecided.
@AnotherKnittingPod Жыл бұрын
Hi Louise! I wish I could say its worth all that knitting, but I wouldn’t recommend it. It’s made with fingering weight yarn so it is a big time commitment! On top of which you have to pick up a million stitches for the shawl collar. It was very disappointing to have it slip and slide everywhere. I tried lots of hacks to try to get it to fit better, but nothing worked. ☹️

You made me laugh when you called yourself a technological caveman 🤭 I used a mic that you can plug into your smartphone. You just have to start your voice recorder app and voilà ! But the thing is, you will have to import the file into your editing app or software and synchronize your recorded voice to your video, so the lip synch perfectly matches. Or even better, you can tape your video and the sound is directly recorded via the mic ! There must be some app that can do that ! Anyway, see you in the next one as always !! 💕
