Another millennial leaves social media

I quit social media half a year ago as I came to the conclusion that I don't see any sense in posting..Why do people do that..? Are they trying to display something or prove that they are worthy enough.. In my case, it happened so naturally, I just lost the interest to share anything. Being private is a really luxurious thing nowadays. As someone mentioned above, "internet became boring", I completely agree and feel the same. Nothing new, all the same stuff. Thank you for this video)

I appreciate your comment! Yep, I've had several temptations to restart social media since quitting and every time this happens, I take myself down the "why" rabbit hole. I usually end up discovering that I am seeking attention or validation in some way. That I have something to prove (e.g., I miss posting my cosplays because I love random people telling me how pretty I am--but do I NEED this for personal fulfillment?) Being private honestly rocks though and it feels good to be able to share things one-on-one with people 🩵

It hit me a while back that it was time I quit Instagram. Weeks went by and the Internet became increasingly boring. That strengthened my resolve.

you calling yourself a grandma is a vibe, I LOVE calling myself a grandma just because of my life style but that's another conversation. Is the hazbin hotel / helluva boss etc community that young ? I know I am still in shock that litteral children know the songs of hazbin hotel (saw a Disney Princess performer on tikotk talk about child asking her to sing Loser for example) but at the end of the day they are a confort shows for me and I am glad to have this community to hyperfixate on it with

🌸 🧶 🍵 GRANDMAS UNITE! 🍵 🧶 🌸 They are such comfort shows for me too, and I love that there is such a passionate community! 🩵 And yeah, I feel like a lot of the Helluverse fans I see online are in their teens and early twenties, though honestly the only time I get weirded out is when I see like 11-year-olds wanting to cosplay Angel Dust or something. 😭 Or that child at the party you mentioned wanting to hear Loser.

Great video! I completely agree. Social media for me was doing way more harm than good, with the exception of youtube. Theres only so many beheadings one can see before calling it a wash 😟

I’m so glad you were able to find your happy place on social media! I love KZbin too (even though I still need to place limits while being on here). We have so much access to so much information-including super distressing stuff-that I think these limitations are what saves us.

I got rid of Instagram completely and removed all other social media off my phone except for KZbin which I only really use for comments. And have used all this extra mental space and time for reading and other activities. I believe its significantly reduced my low moods that were induced by doom scrolling. And lack of fulfillment from lack of hobbies and interests by using most of my spare time to be on social media. I hope that one day more people adopt a more social media free life.

Oh my gosh that’s amazing. I’m so glad your social media journey is going so well. Reading is the best. 💕 I really agree that society at large can benefit so much from spending less time on social media. I know it’s always been kinda wild lol but I’ve done even more reflecting since this vid was posted and I’m even more sick of it.
