Building another new construction yard. This is my last tiny yard for the time being, spread 5 loads of dirt over the yard and ran the preparatror over it so the builder could seed and straw it. It was also completed over 3 days due to weather. Thanks for watching! #EliteEarthworks #TakeuchiTL250 #dirtwork

Considering that you were practically working in a obstacle course, it came out decent enough. I don't see it complaining, though, it's just that when you have pride in your work, you hate fighting to try and make substandard materials work right. I was amazed at how easy you moved that dumpster back in the beginning of the video.

Funny you mention Jason's office, I was helping Jpaydirt on a job this last fall and there was a huge handicapped blue room that he put on one of his videos and talking about all of the paperwork that he had to do in there. Just want to say you do great work. I have watched a few of you videos with the use of the rock hound or soil preporator. There are many ways to use that attachment. The design of them is to rake off the larger material and leave a nice planting surface. The bucket is attached to the rake part to hold the raked off material. As the rakers pull out the big rocks and stuff it will sweep into the bucket. Once the bucket is full then dump it out. The whole attachment should be flat or close to flat on the ground. The same way you grade and push the dirt around. There are many not really using the attachment correctly. The one I used had metal bars attached to roller chain. Same principle but a lot older then the one you have. I hope this helps with less clean up after completing
@eliteearthworksllc
@eliteearthworksllc 5 жыл бұрын
Karl Carnevale thank you! Good to know, I’ll try that again it seems like it doesn’t do as good of a job on the finish stuff when I run it flat. But I’ve never talked to anyone that has actually ran one just tried to learn by trail and error. It has a steel drum with like 2.5 “ thines or steel teeth on it that spin. Thanks again

I worked for a landscaper for five years in the early 90’s. We had a bobcat 7753. We specialized in Unilock pavers and retaining walls. At the time the 7753 was the only machine that could pick up a pallet of pavers. We had to add a 500 lb counter weight to the back of the Bobcat. We also did fine grading. I ran the rock hound on 90% of the grading jobs. I found with the rockhound we had slow roll was the way to go. I always used the hound while backing. I think I had some curl to the bucket. Good luck and thanks for bringing back great memories.
@eliteearthworksllc
@eliteearthworksllc 5 жыл бұрын
Karl Carnevale yeah I know the rock hounds you run more flat and I usually do when I run it over the rough grade but it seems to work better to leave the bucket dumped and let the preparator float over the dirt and barely loosen the top of it up. Thanks again for watching

You have a unique way of running the preparator. care to enlighten us as to why you run it with the bucket at that angle so it can't hold the rocks the preparator kicks up . I run my rockhound that way some times when I don't want to pick up top soil but most of the time I have it down collecting the rocks . I have a friend who rented a preparator with a drum like yours and he said he felt it pick up to much topsoil running it down normally .
@eliteearthworksllc
@eliteearthworksllc 3 жыл бұрын
I run it that way so it doesn’t pick up the topsoil. If I run it over the rough grade I’ll lay it down so it collects rocks. But when I do my final pass I run it with the arms up and slowly move it up when I get close to the end of my run so the soil won’t pile up

@@eliteearthworksllc WHOAA , I didn't know the price but Geezee . Don't get me wrong it looks like a well built machine and seams to work very well But I didn't pay that for my skid steer , And my 6a rockhound I paid $1500 bucks for used . That thing would be great cutting drainage swells in and around houses like the work you do .
@eliteearthworksllc
@eliteearthworksllc 3 жыл бұрын
That’s what AMI told me on the price. I bought my preparator new in 2011 and it was $10k which I thought was a lot lol. I could see it being good for that but once the swale is you would have to set it back straight cause the tracks will follow how ever the swale is. But it could be a handy feature just need to try it at some point

How deep does the prepartor chew down? I have a 5 foot roto tiller that does a nice job but it cuts to deep. When ground is soft you will sink to your ankles until the following spring. It takes a winter to settle it back down. Looks really nice for what you had to work with!👍
