Cheers Si. I REALLY do rate the HW77 .22 I have. Best spring powered air rifle of all in my view. Tony's right, it is like asking "How's your Mercedes today?!!" The HW97 is just as fine a rifle too. But the HW77 is the forerunner and it is astonishingly accurate as hunting spring rifle. I absolutely love mine to bits.

at 16:00 on timeline i know exactly what tony is talking about, you run one type of pellet then when you switch pellets you have to let that new pellet sweep the grime away first, also good to do 5 sets of 5, some rifles require a certain amount of fouling to shoot better with a pellet while others like a always clean barrel, a cheap test is when a person does quick shot groups with different pellets, its not enough pellets or a fair test for each pellet to show you what its average accuracy is, for example if you only did one group you would not know if second group is better or not, this is why even 10m competition shooters are so much into 5 sets of 5, yes it can cost you money but its good to test even a whole tin of pellets and more important to keep track of shot groups and data, the data will save time and pellets since you already know what a rifle will do with a specific pellet, usually for a good test you need lots of pellets, this may put a smile on the pellet manufacturers

I have 10 air rifles. Only one is a big powerful one. 22 caliber. Some of the others are 22 caliber also. But most of them are 177. 3 of them also shoot BBs. One is a fast take apart one that fits in a carry case. I want to get one of those air rifles that gets its air filled with a hand pump. So i can be out in the woods for weeks and refill the air when i am hiking and camping.
