Back in 2008 I was unemployed, the amount of time spent on the phone trying to make sure I got paid was basically a full time job. I had a hard time balancing calling EDD to make sure I got my checks vs trying to follow up on future employers. The process in which this is handled needs to be reviewed and sped up by a factor of x10. With all the technology we have, there is nothing being done to speed up processes that would otherwise save the state money.

This is. Not fair..ii had 3 surgeries due to breast cancer...i called them so many times spoke to 3 rude representatives which no one could help you..they all read the same scrip..my surgeries were from September 2022 to November 2022 my last payment sent was December 7th..when your dealing with an illness the last thing we need is stress or being homeless..so i feel like its the government wants us to die or never to heal. Mentally. physically im tired....i wish i was able to drive to Stockton or had strength to stand in lines..signs of a uncaring world..God Bless us...

If there’s bad service at the state level State Reps have enough pull to actually get over above an unseasoned rep, which there are a lot of at EDD. The hardest part is getting to a rep to pick up and then getting to a rep who is knowledgeable who can handle more complex issues. State Rep are supposed to handle concerns with different state agencies i.e.DMV offices in LA were greatly improved because people got together and rallied their state reps. It’s not perfect but it improved quite a bit since 2015.

They stopped giving me my benefits back on March 7 of last year I’ve been fighting with them since then I finally got an appeals hearing after months of trying to contact them they disqualified me when my appeals hearing came up I never received the phone call I’ve lost absolutely everything My wife my daughter i’m now homeless And a travel trailer on the side of the road thanks a lot Covid and EDD I’ve worked my whole life this is what I’m left with don’t know what to do next I’m tired If there’s anybody that can help please please help God bless you all

So edd is having paper work changes and so most doctors and coders cant keep up with the requirements and don't tell doctors what they need to fill out. Whats required or the doctor is new and doesn't know how to fill documents like that at all.

I have a chronic autoimmune disease. I can hardly walk 10 feet. In pain continuously. Was denied because I have not earned enough money in the last ten years. So now I live day by day on the mercy of others. If I had been approved I could be working on medication to try and work again. For now the crack heads down the road are financed by their disability check and I’m anticipating having to live in my 20 year old car with ulcerative colitis. I was self employed and always paid my taxes.

SDI is paid by the worker as an insurance should they become ill enough to not work. Most people. have a rather large amount of money there and if they get ill they have the comfort of that insurance. It is not a hand out. It is an insurance policy. Unemployment is a hand out.
