Hi Harriet, one improvement on those cylindrical stakes for the guy lines might be to change them out completely, either for the thick metal screw-in type that are made for tying off a dog, or 1"x1" oak stakes made for landscaping applications, if they sell those in Spain. Cool idea on the Ecoflow, will look into that!

The cabbage looked awesome, should make for some great sauerkraut! A word of caution on placing the black plastic sheeting down so close to the exterior perimeter of the tent unless you have the tent on a mound so that the interior is higher than the exterior land. When the rain runs off the roof of the tent the plastic will enable the water to run back into the interior of the tent rather than into the surrounding land and will flood the interior of the tent. Good luck with your property development, thank you for sharing your journey with us so we can learn with you. Be well.../B
@LittleSpanishFarmstead2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Hmm yeah, was thinking about that. The bottom zip of the tent sits about 2 inches off the ground so the water shouldn't go IN but it might run UNDER the tent, which I guess could cause mould if it doesn't dry quickly.
@tomkinsky771 Жыл бұрын
@@LittleSpanishFarmstead Maybe you could punch a few small drainage holes in the black plastic on the outside of the tent, to take care of that issue? Not ideal of course since some weeds could pop up through those holes, but since you've already put so much effort into setting the teepee up ther it might be worth the tradeoff... :)

It looks lovely there, and what great looking cabbages. I occasionally forage nettles here in the UK, and they are my favourite thing to forage as well (it never occurred to me that they would grow in a hot, dry place like Spain). Partly because as Brits we are familiar with them from a young age, so I have confidence in identifying them, but also because they are rather tasty and I know they are good for me.
@LittleSpanishFarmstead2 жыл бұрын
Lots of my neighbours commented that it was surprising to see nettles on our property. They seem to be growing most where I've been fertilizing liberally with urine-tea hahaha. I guess they like the nitrogen!

Hi Harriet, Loving the ecoflow! How great is that!! It's a generator but without the noise, the fumes, and the fuel cost!! It's going to be amazing for your guests in the future but I bet you'll love using it around your property. So handy and portable! Very happy for you that you also got it sponsored. It's amazing w h at can be done isn't it these days! As for the bell tent, I remember you moved some sand to elevate the tent area already, do you think the height is high enough with the black plastic? I couldn't tell from the video if you managed to get the plastic in a slope slanted away from the tent or not. Water has a funny way to go where it shouldn't, it even defies gravity..!! I really liked how you built these little shelves. They are so cute and handy.And that food looked so delicious! Happy belated birthday Mauro!
@LittleSpanishFarmstead2 жыл бұрын
Thank you!! It is very handy, very lucky to have it! I hope the the bell tent is a little elevated, yes (and therefore the plastic somewhat sloped), but I was waiting for the next rain to see how the plastic behaves before going all-in! I am sure some water will get under the tent, but waiting to see how much/whether it drains away quickly/etc!
