Even though this show aired over 20 years ago I still couldn't help pleading with Ryan not to leave Vicky's hospital room. First time around I didn't know what was going to happen or I would have done the same. These are great episodes, but I hate what ends up happening.

Why did this show insist on shoving Joe down our throats? I liked Paulina with Jake, and the way Joe wormed himself in between them really made me hate him from the start. He wasn't as good looking as the people running the show seemed to think he was, Jake was way better in that department. Then, after Ryan was gone it was almost like Joe fit into that main police officer role that Ryan had vacated. Some could argue that that was more Gabe than Joe, but Gabe was just more of an authority figure in the police force whereas Joe seemed to fill that hunky cop role. I wasn't crazy about Gabe for the same reason, but he grew on me where Joe didn't. So not only was Joe coming between a couple that I really liked, but he was also taking the place of one of my favorite characters. There just wasn't any way that I was going to like Joe. He was doomed from the start.

I think instead of a recast or ryan/ theyu tried to use joe, gary, and gabe to fill ryan's shoes- and no one could ever do that in my view= ryan /PMV were the great part of aw at the time- getting rid of him made aw not so like able for me but I hang onto to the show till it's bitter end for loyality sake but I can't say that the show was always loyal to us fans. Bringing back PMV as ryan's ghost in 1996- 1997 redeemed the show to me.

Agree. All these later and I am still obsessed with Ryan and Vicky and still so mad they got rid of PMV. he was the best part of this show

could you show more of 1990- 1997/ the time Paul Michael Valley was on his storylines- I am a huge fan of his/ and also I live near the studio of aw since the late 1980s/ so i have also alot to share with the fans about what it was like to meet the stars of aw right in my nabe. so contact me if you want to. thanks for these clips!
