RIGHT ON!! I loved these ladies. They can " scream " at me all day. Both are on pitch every note. Both are vibrant and do Whitney proud. Your So choice was a good one. Other artists do the composers version. Dolly did it a little more subdued. I like them also. This must have gotten blocked. To bad a lot of fans will miss this at first. From the Lucy Thomas camp I’ve got to say both performances here were great. I enjoyed both!! 👍👍👏👏 I think one of the main issues in the latter post was belting mostly all the way through a subdued mellow song, and to many including myself it appeared over sung and maybe after a while high pitch belting sounded like screaming. The debate there did get a bit excited but actually to the thick skinned it was mostly amusing - for me anyway - even being sucker punched and insulted from my own side, well every side. Hahah 🤜😄 This song here is more appropriate for belting, and both Morrisette and Sohyang brought it and did a super job, and both were great and equal to Whitney Houston, and both live performances. Both these different as Lucy’s version is, but both very well done. There only winner here is us! 🙂 All 3 mentioned Lucy, Morrisette and Sohyang with a couple others I’d say are in the world's top 5 female singers in the shadows. So none are bad and all at the very highest calibre.

Mariah Carey is a famous singer with a thin voice. And the most famous singer with a thick voice is Whitney Houston. In general, there are more singers with thick voice types like Whitney. However, the difference between Whitney Houston and other singers who have generally thick voices is vocal control. A thick voice can sound like a woman's voice with a long-smoked voice, and you have to seriously shake your vocalization because you have to squeeze out your voice when you make high notes. When a woman with a thick voice makes a high pitch, she sounds like a woman who smokes for a long time, or at the same time feels stuffy as if she is tightening her vocal cords even though the pitch is high. Nevertheless, being able to show that level of performance means being a talented singer. So I think if she keeps trying in the future, she can be a good singer at a certain level. Sohyang is a singer with a thin voice. But apart from the voice type she has, she's a master of vocal cord control. All experts are astonished to see Sohyang's voice control, saying that her control is like a computer machine. Sohyang is a Korean singer and there are many singers like Morissette in Korea. Representatively, there are Ailee and Son Seung-yeon. Everyone says, including Ailee Son Seung-yeon. There is no significant difference between Sohyang and their voice volume based on the video, but they claim that they are far less than Sohyang. The reason is that thin-voiced singers do not have a good voice in the audio. So there's a big difference from when you actually heard it. It is meaningful in many ways that the composer and producer of the song chose Sohyang as one of the best female singers to sing the song among the female singers he knew or worked on. To add, videos that usually appear on TV shows are stored separately from the screen and sound. And the company to which each singer belongs usually works to reduce noise. However, in the case of Sohyang, she is a CCM singer and refuses to belong to the public agency and belongs to her own personal family agency. Sohyang's performance on a TV show is almost raw. (It means, barely touched the sound. Sohyang is a representative singer who is famous in Korea for not touching the sound in the video.)

Both great singers! I prefer So Hyang but that is just my own preference. I completely understand those that prefer Morisette. I can't understand her fans who feel the need to put down So Hyang, though. It makes little sense. Also, this is not the best version by So Hyang. Her rendition in Begin Again Concert is even better. Morissette actually did a bodyguard medley with David foster. Both were really great. I feel like Sohyang did a little TOO much in that. Sometimes less is more. I feel like it was so unnecessary to do all those riffs and runs. Kinda took away from the feel of the song. I will say, this time Sohyang sounded a lot better than I’ve heard her. Usually, like others were saying, when she belts it really sounds like she’s just screaming but this time she sounded pretty good. I still love Mori’s full rich voice and think that mori is more suited for songs like Mariah, Whitney, celine and Sohyang’s voice is more meant for simpler less power vocal type songs.

You do know that belting like in Pop or Opera is actually a controlled scream technically!!? SoHyang is a full lyric Soprano, has no cracks in her voice and has one of the very Clearest voices ever and no other female singer is as could at mixed voice singing which makes her transitions seem less ! Most people are not us to hearing someone Belt nearly as high as SoHyang can belt because she is just that good! Please don’t try to tear down singer to try to make your sing seem better! I do the best I can, but YT doesn't always have videos that directly compare. My sole purpose in this channel is not to create he/her vs them, but rather show a different way someone might interpret the song. Is she fat for a "pop" singer? YES. so she's not a "pop" singer which means she needs to perform like a proper diva but was she out of breath? YES, was she out of pitch ? YES. What else can I say? If she's not a pop star and not a proper diva then what??? Now if Morri was reading this I'm 100% sure she'll think she was fat, out of breath and out of pitch on certain parts of the song and I'm pretty sure the perfectionist that she is she lost sleep knowing that that emabarrasing video is on the web for all to see.
