The background Dr. Sadler gives on Anselm's journey to discover the "One" argument is just as interesting as the argument itself. First exhaustion and surrender. Then discovery and embrace, more concerned with sharing the Joy of God than convincing the reader. Such an odd process for an arguments formation. Then again when one starts his argument for/of God by asking for Gods help and clarity it all seems strangely appropriate. To me the Proslogion seems to be almost as much about the state of Anselm's mind as it relates to the pursuit and exploration of God as it is about any individual argument within. Worthwhile read for sure, but I'm still not sure I fully grasp it.
