yeah strict parents scream and control their kids she gave them responsibility and freedom!!! so much respect
@HayleyJeffs3 жыл бұрын
@@kittyykatie where I am from "strict" is a compliment for parents who have clear rules and boundaries, who believe in mutual respect and responsibility. I never would have guessed that people use the word differently to mean controlling or over-bearing, bullying parents.
@kittysparkleeyes3 жыл бұрын
@@HayleyJeffs yes for me, strict means over-bearing and *possibly* bullying if the kid isn't excelling in the parents' chosen paths for them. Typically the kid has very little breathing space and they hide their mistakes and anxieties for fear of punishment. Impacting negatively on a child isn't always coming from neglect, being too demanding and in denial of their individuality can also be damaging. I don't find kirsty and her husband strict, more like nurturing and supportive. I think she exhibits a very positive, child lead parenting style which is something i like about her.

I think people forget that this is a FAMILY, like... when the children look at these adults they just see mom and dad, and when this couple look at these little ones they see their own children. I always peep the man’s energy in these scenarios because imo it’s more telling than the mom’s, and you can tell he’s emotionally invested just like she is! Obviously, momming is always going to be a special dynamic but he clearly wants to father them, and that warmed my heart. They’re doing their thing! ☺️👏👏👏👏

My husband and I adopted five children from the foster care system after having raised two biological daughters. We too are “structured”. Our home is much less chaotic than many smaller families and I attribute that to the fact that we have structure, routine, and very clear expectations. I am also an elementary school teacher who works full-time. I always say, “Hey, I’m used to teaching classes of 25-30 students so having five children at home is a piece of cake in comparison. I told our agency that we have a preference for children of color and everyone freaked out. It's not because I wouldn't love a white child as much; it's because I would like my son to have at least one person in the house that looks like him and so that both children have something in common. Also, I live in WV. I would rather a child be here than in the middle of the state somewhere where there isn't any diversity at all.

That why I worked hard in the state of tn telling my story to prevent that from happening with sibling groups and helping changing policies.

Now I'm raising my bi-racial granddaughter and turned to the computer to see if there was anything instructional. The first video I looked at was "Chizi Duru 'White Mom Natural Hair Care for Black Child'". What fun! First time I saw you and was so excited to have demonstrated exactly what I needed!! I immediately ordered some of the products you recommended and loved how my granddaughters' hair turned out! Thank You so much for taking the time! It was very interesting listening to your husband also and it warms my heart. Blessings to you all!

I just began watching your page. I love your family dynamic. You as a mixed hue couple adopting children of other hues. People forget that we are ALL one race HUEman...Thank you for loving these children.
