Ross is right, after talking on the phone to a sales rep for 30 mins the other day, answering literally every question I could possibly throw at him, with a happy demeanor, I realized we expect more as a consumer. I just don’t get how completely hand made, powder-coated steel bumpers, made for various models of vehicle could take so long. It’s not like they are made perfectly and are the best option for over-landing or anything. Just kidding. I haven’t even ordered a bumper and have gathered their customer service is awesome. Order coming soon CBI.

Is the dual swing arm offered with the bumper in the video above, or only in the more involved bumper? Love the ideas.

Excellent video! I think the single swing arm and simpler bumper is for me. I want one. Where can I get it installed in the Cleveland area, and is the spare tire going to block my right rear tail light?

The spare tire will not block the tail lights. You can fit up to a 35" tire without having any fitment issues on the swing arm. As for dealers or installers in the Cleveland area there unfortunately isn't anyone we work with right now in that area. That being said a good aftermarket parts store should easily be able to install the bumper.

I’m very interested in getting a CBI rear bumper tire carrier. I want to get the same one as shown on the video. Does CBI make this same configuration for a 2nd gen tacoma?

So could you have your tailgate open with like an atv if you had the double swing arms?

You could, but we would not recommend traveling with the swingouts in the open position.

How big can the spare be without blocking the rear backup cam?

Hi Adam, we actually recommend getting the relocation tab for the camera. You may be able to see partially without it but if you want the best view for your backup camera be sure to add the relocation tab to your order.

How about safety sensors? Please address them in the next video when you do a high clearance T3 rear bumper.

What are the benefits of getting a dual swing arm version over the single swing arm version? what kind of stuff can you mount on the extra swing arm?

Both the single and dual swing arm allow the same options for accessories. The dual swing arm doe offer the ability to have two camp tables rather than one large one. That being said many people prefer the dual swing arm because it allows for shorter swing arms that work better it tight spaces or if you are pulling a trailer. it also spreads the load out over two hinge points rather than one. We suggest and recommend their dual swing arm!

@@nathanwright1031 Thanks for the explanation, it really helped me understand the way that the dual swing arms work alot better. I want to use the swing arms to protect the tailgate from rock chips because ive already gotten like 5 rock chips on my tailgate and I dont want it to get a bunch of dents and rock chips on the tailgate all the time so I was looking to cover the most surface area as possible on the tailgate with things to act as shields for the tailgate to protect it against debris. Since the spare tire is round and covers a big surface area I guess you could say it acts like a shield for the tailgate lol and it also helps not to have to climb under the truck if you ever need the spare tire its alot easier to grab it from a swing arm instead of the bottom of the truck. The gas can holder seems pretty useful too if I ever wanna go camping or fishing and need to carry extra gas for the boat or for my truck. I was a bit worried about the CBI rear bumper hitch and still being able to haul a trailer since CBI says that they have no load ratings implied but I read that it keeps the factory hitch so it should be around the same load ratings. Ive been trying to decide between the Expedition One rear bumper with dual swing arms, the ARB rear bumper, or the CBI T3 Rear Bumper with unknown options so far. So far ive narrowed it down to either CBI or ARB because I like both companies products and their both very well built. I dont know if the ARB rear bumper requires cutting (which is something that I want to avoid as much as possible) but I like how the ARB rear bumper maintains all the factory electrical work and the factory hitch while having a rear metal bumper, the downside is that it doesnt have any swing arms and it doesnt mention if it requires cutting or not. I will probably end up getting the CBI T3 rear bumper but im still trying to decide what options to get with it, if I get dual swing arms it makes the swing arms shorter which leaves the center of the tailgate exposed to debris (which is why I wanted swing arms in the first place, to protect the tailgate against debris) because I dont want to have my tailgate full of dents from rocks and debris. If I get a single swing arm I can put the spare tire + a dual gas can holder on a single swing arm to cover the left and right side of the tailgate from debris. The camping table is longer with a single swing arm and while I think its kind of expensive at around $180 for a camping table and I dont think id ever cook anything off a table that was on my truck I do see a use for it to act as a shield against rocks so im not sure if I want the camping table or not for that purpose. Decisions decisions lol.

It’s pretty hard, it requires some hammering to get the bushings on. And to get them off is just as hard. I had to get rid of mine and go with their standard bumper because of this reason.

Can the rear bumper in this video be purchased by itself and then add the swing arm later? I have a budget for a rear bumper and want to eventually add a swing arm just dont have the budget for both at the same time. Can you confirm?

For this model you will need to purchase the rear bumper with the swing arms together. We are working on bolt on options for the swing arms but they are not available yet for this model.

@@CANheSE3me we don't have an ETA on this as the bolt on swing arms are being produced for the new generations right now. Having said that I would wait and purchase the swing arms together with the bumper. You will get the best fitment this way and they are super strong!

Are bumpers are built to meet the factory rating from Toyota for your vehicle.

Each rear bumper with receiver hitch is rated for the factory tow rating and tongue weight of the vehicle.

@@offgridmangogrower The load rating of the receive matches the factory hitch. We tie into the frame rails and have structural reinforcements to allow for the same towing capacity as the factory. As for the fenders cutting, this bumper doesn't require any cuts. Our high-clearance bumper on the other hand will require cutting of the fender from the bottom of the taillight to the wheel well.
