You and I have similar washing techniques: Warm water, dish soap, and a good soak. I also have one of those soft-bristle fruit/veg brushes you can find in the kitchen/utensil isle, which I'll sometimes use (_very_ *GENTLY*) if I find some particularly dirty old pieces. Congrats on your channel, job, and hobby, and thanks for sharing. Happy building!

Awesome vid and thanks for answering all the questions. Super stoked that your channel is taking off and you're getting the views and interaction - you deserve it!

Thanks for the insights. Really interesting on the no dark age thing. My 9yo loves Lego and harbours ambitions to be a Lego designer. But she’s hitting that age where peer pressure is starting to creep in. So I think I’ll show her some of your vids as inspiration if she wants to stay the course! (I had my own dark age. Stupidly sold all my sets for peanuts at car boot sales. Regretted that. The modular fire station sucked me back in. Fortunately, Mrs G likes her Lego too and the kid for now is big into it.)

Great Channel! I totally agree with your not showing your entire collection and house. Safety first! Do you collect any of the modulars? Thx!

For new-in-box sets you buy, how do you handle storing/keeping boxes? What about extra pieces those come with? Also, what are your thoughts on "investing in LEGO" where people buy--often multiple copies of--a set and keep it sealed for potential resale later? I lean more toward sets are meant to be played with/enjoyed, but seeing auction sites list vintage sealed sets for hundreds or thousands of dollars is tantalizing.

I just flatten boxes and throw them in a dark corner of the basement lol! I keep extra pieces with the sets in a little bag once they’ve been taken apart and put into storage. I do a little investing in LEGO, not much. If I find sets on clearance I’ll buy them and hold on to them. I do believe they are meant to be opened and played with but I also understand that with any collector item there will be people who want them sealed. So I might as well use it to my advantage 😂

I know this is a month old video. I still have 99% have a set that my grandmother got me when I was a child at Christmas the Imperial Trading Post I love that set so much. It is well worn n beat up. The greatest feeling I had is when my son who was 3 at the time playing with it n I showed my grandmother a video of it. She asked why show me this I told her it was a set she got me n it was my favorite n it's still being played with

Since 1990, I have been collecting catalogs, building instructions, and Lego club magazines and sets. I have toyed with making artwork from some of this printed material. Do you think there is a market for these?

Congats on the viewer uptick! And kudos for your thoughtfulness in catering to the needs of the new. I originally found you through your appearance on Dr. McBrick some years back. Any plans for more crossovers with other YT Lego folk? Would you want to become the Lego YTer famous for making the most guest appearances? I would call that a cool title. May the algorithm continue to smile upon you! 😉

That's so cool! Yes, I loved chatting with Dr. McBrick! I am always open to appearing on other channels, just haven't been asked I suppose! Lol! Thanks so much for watching! 😄

That was a very intriguing answer about your Lego sources. It made me laugh. I think if you said eBay and Facebook marketplace, I don’t think you would be giving away your livelihood glad to see the channel growing. I haven’t really been that into the older vintage Legos, but watching your videos, makes me think it over

I did know a lot already but it's still always interesting to hear you talk about the logic behind everything you do. I wonder: how big a part of your income (percentage wise) do you get out of Bricklink, and how much do you get out of other stuff like ad money, membership et cetera? Have a great day!

Well it varies greatly from month to month so it’s very hard to say. Right now about 50% Etsy, 40% BrickLink, 10% KZbin!
