The Helen Keller conspiracy was just a girl who did not know how blind and deaf people work. Like- “how could she read or write?” braille exists. You don’t need to see or hear to write. “How do you explain language to a deaf and blind person. Sign language. Specifically letting her touch an object then signing into her hand the name of said object. Blind and dead people do exist and they can learn to communicate. I don’t get why this is such a difficult concept. Also comparing her to a mouse was a huge ableist red flag.

really? if so could have something to do with neurodivergence in general combined with queerness. i know theres a big overlap between trans and autistic people for instance

The Helen Keller one was wild...the girl was just yapping. Wtf do you mean she put her hand under water to learn english? 💀 Does no one understand the concept of braille and the fact she had someone growing up teaching her ways to communicate?😭

Keller did fly a plane, it's a stick... she was told to hold it steady and so she did... there was, of course, a copilot... she was taught language with hand signing (drawing letters on her hand with your finger) And the neck and mouth thing.

tucker should mention that once you sign yourself off to ucmj if you proceed to mishandle your body, like you get severely sunburnt on deployment because you didn't apply sunscreen or something similar, if you're injured because of your own error, they can LITERALLY fine/jail you for mishandling military property because you are no longer your own PERSON you are property of the marine corp

Hello, Helen Keller was absolutely a real person, who had the disabilities she said she did and did the things she said she did. How can i say this for sure? because other blind/deaf people have had the disabilites she said she had and have done the things she said she had. RECENTLY. the most recent person I could find flew a plane in 2012, who communicated in the same way that Keller did. the 2012 example was also a 15-year-old. deaf/blind people can and do absolutely learn to do the things Keller did, because it's not some miracle. The video "Was Hellen Keller a Fraud | The Deep Dive" by Soup Emporium goes into an extensive amount of detail about this. It's generally just an ableist conspiracy theory that is perpetuated becuase people think blind/deaf people are blubbering fools with no awareness of the world around them. Please attempt not to spread such sentiment in the future.

I think there’s a huge amount of society who view deaf/blind people as completely incapable of doing things independently which is why conspiracies like this gain traction. It does suck tho because there is more than enough evidence out there today that shows the opposite
@nathanieljones80435 ай бұрын
helen keller was real and was blind/deaf you can do way more than you think without those 2 senses that conspiracy is just ablism. but she only able to because her family was super rich and had a lot stuff for her and alot of teachers. also the hand thing schlatt said isn't a joke that is literally what she did to learn how to talk just not to a companion
