@@maxwebb2290 I can relate lol, I rarely feel hunger but I have to force myself sometimes because otherwise while I don't feel hunger, I obviously suffer from delaying eating. People think I'm weird for "not eating" (I don't eat as much as others). I do eat but I just rarely have any real hunger, so I just do it out of habit to stay in form (and obviously to survive lol), not because I'm actually hungry. But the times I am, I REALLY am lol so it's probably fine I guess, now that I wrote all of it, it also seems weird to me haha

Anyone else curious to hear the “horn prodigy” play a piece?
@LamanKnight
@LamanKnight 4 жыл бұрын
I've come across a lot of supposed "horn prodigies" in the past. They make me laugh, when they don't make me facepalm. I'm also a brass player, and I know from experience that you don't practice only so you can remember the fingerings for the notes better, or to practice producing a clearer tone. You also have to build the muscles in the sides of your face, because you need to compress them hard, to be able to force greater amounts of air through your mouth. Having that strength in your facial muscles is necessary for playing higher notes, and it helps your endurance for playing longer. I've watched professional trumpet players, and when they play, you can often see the sides of their faces flex and bulge. They have really developed facial muscles. Basically the only way to attain that is to practice, long and hard, and to slowly build up that strength. So, even if it is true, and that "prodigy" really does have the technical expertise to read complicated music, I highly doubt he/she has developed the necessary muscle strength from a short stint of self-teaching. Of course, if it is true (which is unlikely), that would be seriously impressive.

The one time I've heard someone play that Monti arrangement, they'd recently graduated Juilliard, and that low range is respectable for someone without a ton of experience (high notes, hard to say, they might be cheating it a bit with pressure and being able to hit notes != being able to play notes in context). Anyways if they can *actually* do all those things, that's quite impressive but you know, it's the internet and people lie.

Keep up the excellent videos!! Oh, I also wanted to comment… Debussy is pronounced like “dey-byoo-sey”… or even “day-bue-say” would be better than “duhBUEsee” 🙂 He’s one of my favorite composers for French Art Songs to sing. For the tuning and shop one, it is accurate. Some music shops did not know how to tune violin. I bought my first violin at middle school and I actually tune it when I already graduate from Uni, working for 7 years, and start my proper violin course. So yeah, that violin is not tuned for 3HS+4UNIV+7WORK years ..... And my violin teacher also said the same thing. Thank God he did as the first time we did, the E string just .... fly. Because it is, well, not tuned for years. I ended up buying new strings and my violin teacher also accompany me to buy new violin (apparently that violin is unuseable VSO that have to be repaired everytime I play so it can be in tune), bow, rosin (proper one), and new strings for the new violin. Thank you Mr. Wildan 👑🙏 The new violin, albeit cheap, is so amazingly sounds and shaped I am so in love with it. So loud and warm and easy to play. I used to play cello since childhood, but I always have my teacher to tune it. We don't have the app back then, where phones are durable af and can do harm by throwing it to people (n*kia). I am relearning cello and violin for months now, as I can afford classes again.

The piece you’re searching for is probably just the tenth symphony every composer has been wishing to make
