The question about the water hose can be explained like this: Can engines drink the water from the water hose through their mouths like the hose is a straw, and if so, where would the water go?

I think the burger will end up in in smoke box instead of the firebox because the fire box is separated from the smoke box with the boiler. I also think that the faces are made up of a metallic materiel because a smoke box door is metal, same thing for a wooden coach or wagon, wooden face. Unfortunately we can’t ask Rev Wilbert Awdry because he passed away.

Yeah, it is logical to assume the faces to made of the same material as the rest of their bodies. They just so happen to look like flesh for whatever reason.

Annie and Clarabel maybe used to have grey faces. But was painted by their basis because of some trouble they made.

In the big world, big adventures movie and Thomas gets a train of trucks in Africa, the first lot of trucks he picks up, one was facing backwards so they’re not always facing forwards in trains, and when there was a green break van like Oliver’s break van but more he was actually talking to a truck back and forth, so I think they got told that but didn’t realise that happened so they don’t always face forwards in a train, that’s all I wanted to say
