A fellow Singaporean living in Germany and I have to say that it is super safe to travel around Germany now. Don't wait. You snooze you lose. I just returned from a 14 days road trip (From North-rhine Westphalia to Bavaria) with my gf and we loved it. Most of the hotels have free cancellations until a certain date. You do not need to pay for that 10% extra. PS: Sorry but Weisswurst are the worst german sausage. Himmel und äd and Käsespätzle are MUST eat!

Do we need to apply for an international licence or do any form on the conversion of our Singapore driving licence? I read from a website that upon reaching Germany, our Singapore licence will be valid for up to 6 months. However, after which, we would be required to convert our licence to the German Driving licence to continue driving in Germany. Then I read from another website that a Singapore driving licence is not exempted and we require an international driving licence. I am confuse. Could you advice what is needed for us to drive in Germany. I am planning to be renting from Munich and driving around Bavaria. Thanks

the 1st one is correct! we didn't need an international driving license :)

TYSM for this content Annette❣️ (1:53) You mentioned for vaccinated passengers with the VTL destinations, does not require any Pre- departure test yes? Or was it because of the travel insurance you took for this trip? Thanks in advance! :D 🙏🏻 Glad you did the castle visit! 😃 Hope you managed to visit Lake Chiemsee too, i miss doing island hopping on the boat those pre-covid days 😔

i was patiently waiting for a decent reply 🤣 (in hoping at least it’ll help to answer my doubts in making preps for my flight departure) Thank goodness i did MY OWN RESEARCH/ reading online and checking with my local friends in Italy before i flew in this early December 😅 Eventually i did took my PCR test (SGD$125) one day before i check in for my flight, glad it all went well! 😃 💃 Happily enjoying the winter in Europe now 🥳 🙌🏼

Yeah the Europeans are generally friendly. Strangers will just strike up friendly conversations. It's their way of life. In fact, THIS IS LIFE! :) Never mind if you cannot speak their native language. Their younger ones can speak better and pronounce more accurately than our typical Singapore English! :o It's so unlike Singapore where I find people look stressed up and unfriendly. When we go to restaurants here, they just say Ya? Or you got to grab their attention. No greetings usually. When they serve food, their faces look so deadpan and there is that awkward silence when the food is placed on the table. Overseas, I love to hear the "Bonjour!", "Hallo!", "Have a nice day!", "See you again soon!" or simply "Arigato gozaimasu!" Over here, I have stopped greeting our waiters and waitresses because I realize they don't greet me back. Unfriendly. :( Can tell they are just there to work for the pittance money rather than be cheerful and enjoy life. Well...all you Singaporeans who can't wait to experience LIFE again, and get out of stressful Singapore, the chances are coming soon! :)

Hi Annette!! Thanks for sharing about your trip!(: Just wondering if Germany was card friendly when u travelled? Or is it still cash heavy? Also, did the accommodations / venues generally accept the SG notarised vaccine certificate or did you have to get the EU version at the pharmacy? Appreciate your sharing on this, thank you!!😊😊😊
@AnnetteLeeMusic
@AnnetteLeeMusic 2 жыл бұрын
everyone accepted singapore vaccine certificate so you don't need to get an EU version at the pharmacy :) i would say about 1/3 of the places still don't take card. Also restaurants there don't charge service charge and expect tips that are usually paid in cash :)
