I genuinely love how Shlarnalog is a fan of vintage photography and things like that, because I am too, I’m 20 but I now own a Polaroid camera which people actually love, and so do I, especially when you have something like that the film is more expensive, so everything is sparingly and carefully thought out no matter the quality, I love defeating the purpose of it and printing them out and then posting those online, and now I’ve recently found an old Sony camcorder from the 90s so now I just need to find some hi8 tape for that and I’m going to start working on vlogs and maybe a short film! I love the whole analog aesthetic, and I just think it’s a great way to kind of capture moments in another time, everything is so busy so it’s nice to have to wait for your photo to develop or see that style you only see in old photo albums, filters on your phone can be great but actually holding those in your hand to keep forever is priceless. I’m excited to dig deeper into the videography of it all because I think it works very well with my love for horror movies, I’m now collecting more vintage clothing, listening to more 90s and 70s stuff, and carrying around my Walkman. I really like it as a hobby because people always find it interesting, and I enjoy talking about it. Most of all I just like feeling like things aren’t so complicated and consuming as they are now, I would be happy if we even went backwards, to the 80s or 90s technology, and uh maybe skip 9/11 too that’d be cool.. Also if anyone is interested in it I don’t have anything posted yet but once I get the tape I’ll start downloading em to KZbin, editing is the hard part but my goal is to put out spooky travel vlogs, with a mixture of horror movie locations, murder spots, and haunted houses and such, all in that retro aesthetic, filmed analog so If that sounds interesting I’d love to have some people to show it to!
