I’m trying to learn more about collage quilting, and your video was very helpful. It seems there are many ways to do collage. I like the fact that you use Steam a Seam 2 Lite. Steam a Seam regular was very hard for me to sew through. Thanks!

JoAnns does have a premium line of quilting cottons - look on the bolt end for the word PREMIUM. JoAnns is a good alternative if one doesn't have a nearby LQS or cannot afford the cost of boutique cottons + shipping.

My local printers has a box of free mat board, and huge pieces of foam core board. I’ve picked up 3 large pieces just this week.

Suggestion for a quick video...how to make a foam core work surface. Show an uncut sheet, mention to look for it in the framing department, (I had no idea what foam core was. When I asked about it at Joann's, the person I asked didn't know either. I ended up buying something that was NOT foam core.) Show how to cut it to the size you want. ( I use an old rotary cutting blade.) And Show how to cover it.

I had a foam core board we had bought at Walmart for making posters for an event. It is working out well. Finding wool felt is another problem!

I went to Joann to get the Steam A Seal and all they had was Pellon. It was awful. Ordered Lite Steam a Seal on Amazon and it works so, so much better!

Do you use a diffent kind of thread for free motion vs the other quilting like binding, etc?
@CollageQuilter8 ай бұрын
No! I use the same Isacord thread for everything.

@@CollageQuilter Thank you for your quick response Emily. I’m going to check that out. I’m not at that point yet. I love watching you work on your collages. You have inspired me to try collage quilting and I am really enjoying it. I’m working on my first piece, 2 koi in a pond with lily pads and lotus flowers. I may not have all the shading correct, but it’s still looking pretty cool. Thank You!

@@JoanHolland-vu2lz you did purchase the webinar from January 25, we sent you the recording to watch that same day. Email me if you have any questions!

Thank you. I found the recording. I think I heard I have 30 days now to watch it. Very sorry I missed the live. It just got lost in all the other emails. I hate it when that happens. I'll use a different email next time.@@CollageQuilter

Why do you order fabric from a foreign country instead of from the United States?
@CollageQuilter8 ай бұрын
Because there are no fabric mills in the United States, otherwise I absolutely would!
