liner socks to prevent blisters... with a normal outer sock the liner is a smooth thin fitting sock, the socks slip against each other reducing the liner sock rubbing against the skin reducing blisters, or pre tape areas where you may normally get blisters .

Kia ora Michelle, as a hunter we come across alot of lost dogs and would you believe wild ferrel cats but I'm quite confident that was a hunting dog you found kudos for handing him in, usually we would know the dogs owner andd hand them back, but cats are to fast and skittish and we can't kill or catch them...lol good to see you alive and kicking it's been a while🥰

Yeah I guess we'll never know what her backstory was, but thankfully she made her way out of the bush with a little help from us... Shudder to think what might have happened to her if we hadn't found her... Not sure if she would have found her way on her own! I've also come across feral cats in the wilderness too... Such a shame to see.

To the sticky DOC mat challenge: Personally I love my silk liners, they are light, compact and when wrapped around you, it’s all snuggly.

Do you still use silk liners in the winter, Dave? I'm assuming you probably use them on their own in the summer and together with a bag or quilt in the winter?

@@LongWhiteGypsy Every sleep. Example: my recent hammock was on a wet night, the ground was muddy and all that stuff stays inside the liner which is easily washed.

you can load routes onto the inreach mini, it will tellyou how far and what direction you have to go foryour destination, your phone will show the route on the map for their application Earthmate , tghe PLB have a transmiter that is about ten times stronger than gps trackers like increaches and the aerials are much bigger.... they can be tracked much better at closer range by SAR with homeing systems they carry with them, aerials fitted to helicopters and handheld ones... but the inreach is still pretty good for raising alarms, there are other systems that are less reliable due to less satellite coverage like the SPOT. i've used that and the inreach and in NZ the increach coverage is far superior especially under the forest canopy. plus beacons you dont need to pay a subscription as you do with inreach type devices
