61 yrs. old with a good number of musical instruments to give myself a headache with but apparently I must have come to the conclusion that what is missing in my life was a drum set. Nope, never picked up a stick in my life but, always wanted to learn. I have to tell you watching your channel was a major reason for that decision. Great video. Thank you, Emma and Ilona! That was very entertaining. I started with a rack mounted e-kit and moved to a Roland VAD kit. I find it so much more enjoyable. A lot of it is psychological (and a lot more expensive), but it’s really nice to be able to place every piece of the kit where it works best, ergonomically. I would love to try/have an acoustic kit someday, however, there’s the noise issue. I can’t wait to see your first performance on the new kit!

I am determined to get back into drumming. I started when I was about 15 and then stopped for a few decades. Because reasons. Noise. Job. Family. Etc. Tried to get back in with VDrums but some reasons still applied. Now retired (finally!!!!!) and am getting back on the Roland but also just bought my first full acoustic kit. I have named it Lazarus because it does need bringing back from the dead. But it is a full kit, Ludwig made in China version with stands cymbals pedal high hat throne and sticks for £80. They threw in the rust for free. And I may still have overpaid. But it will be fun trying and I think it is partly (maybe even mostly) this channel which has inspired me. It's supposed to be fun. And watching Emma it always is.

Nice drum kit Emma. ✨🥁✨ Crazy how much detail EFNote have put into it, with all the repeater skins and different sets of cymbals. Does the 'brain' remember different sound settings between cymbal sets? For example; The dark set for a jazzy sound and the light set for more rock duties? This would save having to reprogram for different cymbal sounds in a hurry. I am a drummer, I have Hay fever as well.. 👀 conspiracy? Hope the hay fever is better 🤧

I really dig the efnote pro kits subdued style. Def one of the sexiest “vanilla” stage kits out now. A bit pricey, given the shells, but should hold up far better than the more economical pad versions. Enjoy! 🤙

An advantage of e-kits was that they took up less space vs an acoustic kit. With the new trend towards more realistic looking e-kits you lose that advantage. There are still subtle things you can do with an acoustic kit and cymbals that e-kits can't replicate but they are getting closer. Of couse there is the advantage of not bothering everyone in your house and neighbors. 😀

The more realistic ones are often the higher end/kits for live situations so the other kits will stay just pads I suspect 👌

Double Kick: you’ll need someone who knows how to build up speed singles. BUT! Never underestimate the sheer coolness of riffs and accents just outside the ability of single pedal triplets. Think spending your life as a one handed drummer and Emma comes along and shows you what a second hand can bring to your feel.

In all honesty you'll likely want to get into some function bands/teaching if you want to build up some more reliable work and then build session stuff up along side that x
