Thank you so much for reminding us that whether the future is scary or not depends solely on to Whom we belong, and through Whom we came to Him. My husband and I have not been given health or wealth, but we have been given salvation. Living in a spirit of thanksgiving, we are. :)

I've been watching your families videos for some time now, and I love the simplicity of your every day life. You are not consumed with electronics, keeping up with the Joneses, or what the next trend is. The world moves fast with all those distractions. I had my sweet baby boy almost 10 months ago, and I would love to raise him the way you've raised your children.

Thank you for reading my comment and answering it. Yes, most definitely an ebook on herbs. I'm always looking for new herbs to grow, love to read, and love learning. I'm a retired teacher PreK and Sp. Ed here in Arkansas, so it's in me to learn and teach. My go to book is the Bible it has all the answers and my favorite to study. May God Bless your family always in all things 🙏

Thank you so much for your message to trust in our Lord. I needed that today. I know the Q&A is over but for the future or anyone reading this... I have two questions and one comment of encouragement. 1. We left 1.5 acres and it was thriving with eggs, goat milk, 15 fruit trees, berries, and all kinds of vegetables and mushrooms. And we only used about an acre so far. You can do a lot on an acre! 2. For the benefit of our special needs son, we had to move. We moved to 20 acres, actually was less money because it was 30 minutes from town. It was so hard to leave our thriving food forest. This leads to question #1: What would you say is the most important thing to do for a new homestead to start providing food? (We did bring our goats and chickens with us.) 3. We are looking for a like minded couple who wants to live on our 20 acres and help develop a permaculture food forest. We are Believers and would love fellow Believers in Jesus Christ to join us. We homeschool our special needs son and are limited on what we can do because of our little one's care. We live in the Pacific Northwest if anyone is interested. :)

Thank you for sharing Wendy. I would say that getting perennials, fruit trees, and garden beds established would be a good place to start. Also important would be getting water systems in place. Our website has a forum where you might be able to connect with a like minded couple. Here is the link: 1000sofrootshomesteading.com/forum/ Blessings to you and your family.❤

Hello Carrie from our farm in New Hampshire. Been a while since I have commented. So glad to get this update from you. Your family is the embodiment of what my grandmother's family background was like and I'm 72. Her father was a farmer in Vermont. He sold the farm when she was young and moved to New Hampshire to work in the Manchester mills, thinking it would be a better life. It wasn't. My Great Uncle Ray and his sister Hazel ( my gram) had to quit school in the 8th grade and work in the mills to help out By far, she and I would have preferred VT farm life! Gram lived next door. Her brother, Ray, saved up and started an egg laying business with his wife Annie. Those three family members taught me the Old Ways I live today : ie:. rural NH lifestyes of the 1930s. A Godsend! Now I am part of my husband's farm family in Central Lakes NH. We raise grass fed beef and buy and trade with our neighbors. You are correct Carrie, this is the way to be more sustainable in these times. We are indeed in the last days, when at some point, we will be living mostly by our own hand... and by the community efforts of our family and neighbors. God bless ~ Diane

So nice to see the children participating in the Q&A. They really seem to have a lot of fun together. I used to enjoy ping pong as well and my son's bought me a table but finally sold it because with the boys shift work and not having workable lights in that room it was never use much. 😕. And basically it was me playing solo. *sigh* I love my Lemon balm but didn't know until recently that you could make a syrup with it for colds. Definitely doing that in the spring, cause apparently the first leaves are the best. Hope I do it right. Blessings to your family. Maranatha and thank you for the encouragement
